How does this mount to the vinyl siding?

AnswersI have used it for hose bibs as well as light fixtures. Just be sure the hose bib is on lap siding and is centered on the block. Otherwise it looks ackward.

AnswersThere is a variety for dutch lap siding and lap siding. Find the correct variety, and I would use it. I attached the Ring Outdoor Light and Camera to the mounting plate after drilling a wire feed hole with a hole saw. I used four three inch screws, on in each corner, to attach the mounted unit to the outside wall.

It's a siding adapter. $11 per unit, pricey, but does the job. It is a bit flimsy in the middle so be cautious when tightening with screws. It will bow and get out of level, quickly. Solid mold, so shouldn't fade (or fade fast).
not actually white in color

We needed this product in order to mount Ring doorbells on vinyl siding. The mounting blocks are gray in color, not white as the description reads. Other than having to paint them to match our siding, they fit over the vinyl perfectly and will work for the intended reason.

Keep in mind that it is meant to have pieces punched out the center. If you have to have a hole off center like I did, you need to be very careful drilling the hole. I love how this fits over siding.
