Both sides of my house are installed with this products, siding panels and no need sheathing at all over 40 yrs. There are only Black papers behind them.
This product is siding and should be installed over sheathing, not used as sheathing itself. You should install sheathing first, then a vapor barrier, and then install the siding on top of the sheathing.
Thank you for your interest in T1-11 Siding. Gypsum board covered by a water resistive barrier is recommended for use behind the T1-11 Siding. Please visit buildgp.com or call 1-800-225-6119 more further assistance.

Yes but apply it perpendicular to the ceiling joist to prevent sagging.
Yes it can be used for ceilings the wood comes as 4ftx8ft panels and would need cut to your precise measurements.
If a 1/4" crown pneumatic stapler is in your arsenal, a 1-1/4 to 1-1/2"" long galvanized staple would be ideal. Otherwise 1-1/4" screws will work or even 1-3/8" galvanized hand driven nails.
Why frame anything 24" O.C., just because it's on the books (nothing is ever removed!), I wouldn't build anything larger than 16" O.C. As for the T-111, it's a siding and should be installed over sheathing, not used also as sheathing.
