Product Details

With an actual inside diameter 1/2 in. greater to accommodate the thickness of our Wrap, this 3 in. MDF Cap & Base trim set will add an elegant finishing touch that completes the installation of Pole-Wrap giving it the look of a classic fluted column. These mouldings are made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and sanded smooth ready for your custom finish. Match the color of your decor exactly with this easy to paint finish product.
  • Use this model size for 9-1/2 in. Circ (or 3 in. Dia) columns -- actual trim hole size is 3-1/2 in. Dia to fit over Wrap
  • MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) sanded and ready for finishing
  • Installs quick and easy with construction adhesive (e.g., liquid nails - not included)

Q:Our pole is 3". We are not going to use the wrap, just the base covers for the top and bottom. So we should order down a size, correct? And how do you attach the two pieces together as show in the picture together?

Answer This Question

A:  Our 3 inch size Cap & Base has an actual inside diameter of 3-1/2 inches to accommodate the thickness of our Wrap. The 3 inch is the application size (on the box) and the smallest size we offer. Your 3 inch diameter pole should have a circumference measurement, around the outside of the pole, of about 9-1/2 inches. Always good to confirm. But, if you have a 3-1/2 inch pole, the circumference will measure about 11 inches.

    A:  Our Cap & Base inside diameters are a 1/2" bigger to fit over the wrap. If you installing a Cap & Base set without a wrap then you can order a size down. For a 3 1/2" diameter pole, unwrapped (bare), you can use a 3" Cap & Base set. Item # 87CB30.

          Huge waste of time! this is NOT a 3" diameter as it stated. They add 1/2" to get you to go back to purchase the wrap. I would not have been opposed to making the purchase but what a waste of time. Beyond being dishonest the product is fine, it works and looks decent.
