The best planter box, far exceeds any others!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the modern look of the black Monterray square planter. I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight it is for its size and compared to other planters. It weighs only 18 pounds. The planter has 3 drainage holes with exit channels on the bottom. It’s large, which so much space, there are endless opportunities to what you can plant in it. The company also backs their products with a 10 year warranty! I highly recommend this product and can wait to get more!

No Drainage Channels
Still in box but removed to look at it. Disappointed in that there were no drainage channels as advertised. Invested a lot of money for this and the drainage channels were important to me. So, this showed a feature that I did not get. Guess pictures don't necessarily represent the product. Can someone make this right? Otherwise, very attractive and very well packaged.

This is a very interesting product, and would definitely be ideal in some situations. It has the look of a concrete planter, which is great for more urban areas, and yet it weighs about as much as a plastic planter of the same size. That makes it very easy to move. It appears to be made of an advanced foam material, and the outside of it is hardened to prevent damage. The interior is actually somewhat pliable, and could probably be damaged if you took a sharp tool to it.
I have two concerns, however, from an aesthetic viewpoint. The first is that it the planter has a stucco look, and was far bumpier than I thought it would be. Even brushing against it accidentally might leave you with a bit of a scratch. I think it would be nicer if it were a smooth concrete-like material.
Second of all, the color name is pretty inaccurate. It's just a dark grey, despite being called "urban bronze". I was so shocked by this that I had the manufacturer send out a second sample, and sure enough, it's the same grey. I'm actually really surprised no other reviewer has posted a photo of the product. The first thing that struck me was that it wasn't a bronze color, but I guess others aren't bothered by this. I'm posting a photo so everyone knows exactly what this planter looks like. One piece of good news is that the material is paintable with any outdoor house paint, so you can actually make it any color you'd like.
Overall, I think this is an innovative product if the urban concrete look appeals to you, but it's quite expensive, and in the end isn't the most attractive planter I've seen. If you're interested in the planter due to its design, durability and lightweight, consider some of the other colors, which look more interesting to me.

Okay planter
