Asked by SW170 June 17, 2020

Hi SW170, thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. There is a replacement plate and the model number is 13904 and the price depends on your location. I hope this helps. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Is this a variable-speed sander?

Asked by Bob April 17, 2020

Is it supposed to stop spinning with light pressure? I have had it a while now and feel as though it just vibrates mostl

Asked by Dantheman July 7, 2019

Unlike a disk sander, a random orbit sander does not spin. When the sander is on the work piece, the motion of the sanding pad is small swirls. This produces as few cross grain scratching as possible with maximum stock removal You have purchased one of the best finishing sanders made.

what size ( thread size, diameter,) is the hose connection if I decide to hook up to my shop vac...

Asked by mrmonk March 15, 2017

I hook mine to a shop vac using black electric tape, I’ve yet to find a connector

Can this be attached to a vacuum dust collector?

Asked by RickL February 24, 2017

Yes Rick, Porter Cable orbital sanders work great with vacuums. The biggest problem is finding an adapter to fit whatever hose size you have to the sander vacuum nozzle. Now comes the test to see just how good you are at measuring, and finding what is needed. Vacuum hose adapters on line is all I can say because brand names can't be used here. Try to use rubber instead of plastic because you want flex, not stiff which can crack and break. There are lots of choices out there and I wish you luck.

I have a model 333. Can I get replacement parts?

Asked by Tomanytools67 November 11, 2016

yes, if you are lucky

Can this be use to sand auto body car ?

Asked by Nelson October 28, 2016

Most auto body shops use air to power their equipment because water is used to clean out emery paper which you need instead of sandpaper. This sander is NOT waterproof and would probably electrocute you first time you dipped the pad in water to clean it! Keep it dry and there should be no problems. But you will still have the problem of body filler plugging up your emery cloth. Good luck with your project.

Still using after 25 years
This review is for the old 5'' 5-hole #333. It is a good machine (so far), even after twenty-five years of use. I have replaced the pad several times as it has worn out.

Good small sander
I have had this sander for 10 years and I have bought other more expensive units but I eventually go back to using the P-C. The dust bag is worthless but so are the bags on other brands.
by OldMan
Purchased in 2017 . I build cabinets, bought to sand face frames. This sander in" money"! No issues, still going strong
by Dale
Works ok but doesn’t collect dust well
I’ve been using this sander for a couple years. It works but the dust collection bag sucks I’d look for something else

Honest long term review
purchased 10+ years ago Not sure whats up with these reviews being so poor for this product. I have this exact model number from 10 years ago. Therefore it is an older design and you really shouldn't purchase at full price, but that's the only reason, as it's a very competent well built tool. I have abused it profusely over the past decade and I'm only on my 3rd pad for it. This tool will last many many years and its a simple random orbital sander. Do some research and purchase the correct sander you need. Random orbital sanders are supposed to remove lots of material. They mostly suited for finishing and for that task, this sander has ample power. I've only wanted for more power when I couldn't fit a larger sander into a tight spot but, thats not a negative for this sander. My 4 out of 5 are for these reasons, which are areas it could be better: Vacuum/dust port and bag. I ditched the small useless bag it came with in about the 3rd year. Unfortunately the port is a weird size and the adapter it came with to fit round Vacuum fittings was also an oddball size. Also, even with the bag, it still builds up dust on the fan blades and then randomly blasts them out all over the place. Pad interchangeability, would be nice if you could alsp swap pad sizes.
