It shows it comes with a hose, but where does the actual dust go? Do you need to purchase a vacuum for this unit? It says built in dust collection.
Asked by: Drywalld
yes, plus make sure to have a good filter, HEPA preferrably and bag. Drywall dust is very fine and will travel all over. Don't forget a mask and possibly glasses or goggles.

I painted my popcorn ceilings several years ago using a sprayer and now I want to remove them. Would this work?

Asked by: Vicki
I taped a 6" drywall knife to the end of my shop-vac with the wide attachment at the end. That way you suck up most of the popcorn as your scrapping it off. Than what I did was I skim coated my ceiling with drywall compound. you have to thin it out with water. you want it thin enough to where it's almost like a running mash potato mixture, after you roll it on the ceiling i used Marshall town 2.5-in Blade W x 22-in L Knockdown Knife to smooth it out. It takes a bit of practice to get it down but its much easier then trying to use a drywall knife. Using the Knockdown Knife will make your life easier when you go to sand it smooth. I have used this method and skimmed over a cinder block wall "my boss made me do it" and you couldn't tell it was a block wall when I was done.

What grit discs are needed to remove popcorn textures?

What grit discs are needed to remove popcorn textures?
Asked by: Doug
You do not need a sander if the popcorn has NOT been painted. Cover the room in question with plastic. Take a small pump sprayer filled with warm water and wet the popcorn ceiling. Wait a few minutes wet it again. The more you soak it the easier it will come off.Keep it wet. Then take a scraper on a pole and scrape the corn off of the ceiling. Pole sand after it is dry. BEWARE!! Older popcorn mix may contain Asbestos.

does this come with the vacuum for collecting the dust?

Asked by: Jack
No vacuum.. but it comes with a flexible hose... you can use to connect to a shop vac or other vacuum you might have... just might have to buy another adapter.. depending on what is used. Hope this helps.
