Enjoy the timeless and classic style of the Lexington Mailbox and Post Kit - the newest addition to the Postal PRO line of mailbox products. The elegant square post incorporates detailed fluting on each side, recessed panels on the base, an attractive curved support and is finished off with a decorative pyramid shaped finial. The mailbox is equally attractive and features 35% more capacity than economy size mailboxes. The Lexington Mailbox and Post Kit is manufactured from rust-proof polyethylene and polypropylene material with and ultra-violet inhibitor for long life. Product can be assembled and installed in a matter of minutes using common tools. All hardware needed for assembly is included. The base of the mailbox post is designed to mount over a 4 in. x 4 in. x 72 in. pressure treated pine post (not included). NOTE: Actual dimensions of a pressure treated 4 in. x 4 in. x 72 in. post are 3.5 in. x 3.5 in. x 72 in.

Q:Will the post fit over two 4x4's that are connected using mending plates? Replacing old mailbox but the existing 4x4 doesn't come up 48" so I would need to either 1) use mending plates to extend the 4x4 or 2) remove & replace post.

A:  I'm afraid the addition of a mending plate would make the post too fat to fit through the opening in the post sleeve. The opening is only 3.5" x 3.5"

    Q:Mocha vs Bronze.. They look very similar in color, besides the flag difference, how else are they different?

    A:  I would best describe the Mocha as a grayish brown. It is kind of like coffee with a lot of creamer. The Bronze is a dark brown like a chocolate bar. Bronze is darker than mocha.

      A:  This does not come with the wooden mounting post. A 72" 4x4 pressure treated post is required for installation. You will need to bury 24" and leave 48" above ground.

        Wonderful looking mailbox - in minutes!
        The Lexington Mailbox and Post Kit couldn't have been a better product for our home. The price was very affordable and the installation and assembly took a total of maybe 20 minutes. Once you have your wooden post in the ground (not included with the kit), the project is a snap - only needing a power screwdriver to complete the assembly. HINT: Make sure your wooden post extends 48" or so above ground (we buried the 6 ft wood post about 2 ft into the ground using a post hole digger). The bracket that supports the mailbox has to be attached (with the screws included in the kit) through the exterior post and into the pressure treated wooden post to stabilize everything - and that bracket is attached 42" or so above ground level. By the way, the installation sheet that comes with the kit does an excellent job explaining all of this. Already receiving compliments from all the neighbors!

          Nice looking mailbox.. however..
          My husband installed mailbox without any issues. It looks very nice, the bronze color compliments our house. However, the box itself is flimsy and cheaply made. Children's toys are made with sturdier plastic! If the box is closed tightly, it is difficult to pull open, don't think the knob will last.

            I expected this to be at least stron plastic. It was very flimsy. Had to weigh the base with sand to keep it from flopping around in the wind. Next time I won't order online
