Which is correct? Does it have power steering or not? The description above and parts list show that this snow blower has power steering - but the picture does not show the steering levers on the handles and the answers to a previous question say it does not. Which is correct? Does it have power steering or not?

Customer Reviews

PR241 24 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from plastic Piece of junk Hardly any use and the cable mount for the F/R lever broke out of the plastic console which leaves you with ONLY reverse! What kind of ID10T engineer puts a high-stress part in a plastic console on a cold weather machine expecting it to hold up? Junk!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just plain sad Brand new , just put gas and oil in it. Started after 3 pulls. ONLY GOES IN REVERSE!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Poor Design I purchased my unit 2.5 years ago, with no more than 10 operating hours. I have a small area (500sqft max) driveway, with a sidewalk 60ft in length so my usage has been relatively small. My unit, as did others, was stuck in reverse due to the broken plastic support feature beneath the housing. As an engineer, there are several questions I have: 1. Why hasn’t the issue been fixed on new models? 2. Why isn’t there a repair kit available for customers experiencing this failure mode to purchase? 3. How long has this failure mode been a problem (a question I’m guessing that won’t get answered…I get it!) As it stands, I would not recommend this product to my friends or family. The reason is because there appears to be a systemic disconnect between customer feedback and problem resolution response with the current design. The result is no apparent support for customers experiencing A KNOWN, COMMON FAILURE MODE!. The motor, and other functionality of the unit appears to work as designed, however, I can only make that assessment based on the limited use (originally due to lack of snow, but now it’s product quality..) of my model (PR271). I’m open to discussing my issue further with customer support if necessary. By the look of the feedback on the CS webpage, it appears like someone (Quality, Design, Customer Service) should take action immediately. Customers do have other choices (even if the designs are similar/same….)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from another broken console for the shifter It's worked well for a few years but today during a big storm it would only go in reverse. Same issue as most other 2 star ratings. Where the shifter cable attaches it is made of very thin plastic. Not fit for the application.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken cheap console I bought a few years ago. Only used it 4-5 times. When I went to use it this year, I found it would barely go forward. The cheap plastic console had broken in several places (just like everyone elses). VERY POOR DESIGN. Needs to be redesigned. I hope they have fixed this issue on the newer parts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Console bracket for shifter broke-CHEAP PLASTIC The brackets the hold the shifter cable in place broke after two season use. The brackets are nothing but cheap plastic, and are attached to the console base, part 5811312-01. The plastic brackets becomes brittle and break away from the console base. There is no way to fix this other than to replace the entire console base assembly. The part is so cheap that this repair will be an on-going periodic repair. There is no way to avoid this repair unless better materials in construction are used. Like so many others here, I am very disappointed with the quality of the console base mechanisim. It's a manufacturers defect and should be replaced under warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Console plastic poor design The machine worked fine until I was getting it ready for this season and notice that it would only go in reverse. Turns out that a few of the plastic brackets under the console broke. Then plastic is very thin and made brittle. I would not recommend this product until I see a correction for this piece.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor structural design Have used blower 5 times and when starting it up this year i had no forward. The console has broken at points where the cables lock in place underneath. The drive has completely broken off, the others are all cracking, the console will have to be replaced.
