Asked by Adrian February 16, 2021

It comes with oil it takes 16 oz.

Asked by Vic February 14, 2021

Mine also did this after one use. Using a wrench, just tighten up the spring loaded control cable where it connects to the shoot opening.

How much oil do you use

Asked by Doris February 13, 2021

The set-up instructions tell you how much oil to add at the beginning. (IT COMES WITH NO OIL IN THE MACHINE.) They included a plastic bottle of oil with measured markings so that you can add the right amount.

How do replace the spark plug

Asked by Franco February 2, 2021

No idea? It comes with a 2 year warranty, and I bought the 3yr. extended plan. At 70, I'll let somebody else fix it, if it needs maintenance!

Why would the cord for the electric start not be included? Now we have to purchase it separately!!

Asked by crwilliams February 2, 2021

Folks purchasing a snowblower has a residential home of such size that would dictate need to use a snowblower and most likely they have outdoor types of extension cords already. Don't use a 18 gauge lamp cord. Any outdoor 16 gauge or lower will work, as long as it is a single outlet type and not a 3 outlet type end.

Hi Rocky~ Can you elaborate or be specific on what stopped working?...engine?...auger system?...drive system? Thanks, Stan

This is an extremely great value blower. The machine works and starts up very easily. It makes quick work of snow. Very good on gas and the shoot blows well. The main issue is the shoot does not sit in place nor does it turn very well. It doesnt matter though- at the price point delivered to home is by far the best on market. I would put this up against $1,000 snow blowers at this point.

Long Overdue Review
I purchased my snowblower in 2015 and has worked great living in NJ and blowing through a few Noreasters. Have only changed and used up all shear pins that came with original purchase with no problems except this last 2/1/21 storm. Got hung up on rope that had been plowed from street on driveway and had though just another shear pin was to be replaced but dead wrong. The right side auger blade got shredded and did not break pin line it was supposed to and now I have to figure out where to get the new blade and new shear pins since HD or Powersmart don’t have in stock. While it was a great investment for the years, I am disappointed that quality of pins did not pass and now will cost me more to repair.

I love this little machine
Assembly was intuitive and easy. This little beast performs as well as my larger snow blower costing over $2100. Super quick governor reaction. For the price this is the best snow blower available. ADD OIL (Supplied )BEFORE STARTING TO PREVENT MOTOR SEIZE IN FIRST 2 FEET. There is no throttle so engine runs at top speed sorta like as generator. Very easy to assemble Very happy May buy another as a spare at such a low price

Throws the snow 20 ft ..insane
Only used one time but on 18 inches of snow on 32x16 deck. Knocked it clean in 20 minutes..the shoot is amazing..I have new Cub Cadet, twice the price and doesn't come close to the shoot. The engine sounds rough at first, then goes to nice hum (beaking in). I've read the reviews on the engines seezing up, hoping they put oil in it because it does not have oil in it when its delivered, so don't forget that step. Make sure you tighten everything when you get it. We love it so far.

When I first brought this home, i was excited to have a self driving snow thrower. During my first use, i found out how much of a problem this one is. First, when you are blowing the snow, and it is just snow, it throws snow 30'. its amazing. If you hit slush at all, the blower stops moving, because the drive wheel gets wet, and start slipping, and if the snow blower is not near your house, you have to push it back by hand, top get it somewhere where it can dry out. This is a real very poor design. There is absolutely no reason why slush should make this stop moving. Second, the handle to angle the shoot top, to deflect the snow, froze up after the first use. ALL winter, it was stuck in one position until i finally took a torch to the cable to free it up, so that i could adjust it. I sprayed some wd40 down the cable, and it worked for a couple more uses, but then froze up again. Lucky for me, it was in a good position that i didnt care any more. the biggest issue i have. The last snow storm of the year, i got it out one last time, and i was using it, and after about 20 minutes, it started blowing oily smoke out of the exhaust. I suspect that the rings have failed and that the engine is now scrap. I thought, for the price and the "quarantee" that was put under the Powersmart brand, that this was going to last a few years. I had no idea, that i would spend over $400 for a snow blower and it would last 3 snow storms. How pathetic is that?

I would suggest purchasing a product called Snow Jet (can be purchased in The Home Depot), which is a polymer spray designed for wet, heavy snow. Slushed snow will put a great deal of torque on the auger system (auger belt, pulley system, and axle), however this product keeps snow from sticking in key areas and gives some relief to the auger system.

Does this makes sense for you?

The pricing for this snow blower was very good. This is the second 2 stage snow blower I've had. After 2 heavy wet snows in December 2020, shoveling was over. Assembly instructions were straight forward. Start up and usage went well. Electric start is perfect and a welcome relief from a pull start I had on the old unit. This one is very economical. I haven't run out of gas once doing my normal drive and sidewalk areas. The snow throwing shoot control is very helpful having the controls by the handles. Only downside is that it would be better with a little more power. I end up pushing more than guiding. I think my walking pace is faster than the snow blower's forward and reverse gears. This is my first winter with it. Overall, for the pricing, this was a very good purchase and is a dramatic improvement from shoveling in December ;)
