Before this I had a small metallic level with 3-axis laser lights (for level marks; 1/2" off flat surfaces). I discovered I could slightly tilt it and throw the laser lines along the floor and use them to mark for tile/planks/etc. Kind of a kluge, but it sort of worked. Well, this product is made specifically for this use, and throws decent lines at least 25 feet. Very handy for what it does and low cost. Nice thought out built in angles and such to get lots of use out of it (not just right angle on a floor). Only negative is build quality. I'd be careful dropping anything heavy on the plastic casing.

This tool is quite handy when it comes to laying out for install jobs such as tile and stone. The laser is adequately bright for most applications. Not much by way of instructions, but enough for the average DIYer to figure out the basic premiss of how using this tool is beneficial. I do like the ability of this laser to be installed on a vertical surface making laying for something like a kitchen backsplash quite a bit easier, however doing so is tricky. The quality of the laser seems good, I haven't dropped it yet so I do not know how durable it is. It does not come with a case, which makes storage between uses sketchy at best. When relying on something like a laser level to be precise, banging around in a toolbox between uses is not the ideal situation. I would have paid more for a plastic hardcore of some type. I have another similar laser that came with a case and serves a very similar purpose. I have used the Bosch GL-3 which looks and feels almost like a duplicate to this laser. This tool is good, not great hence the four stars across the board. Durability, which ultimately will effect accuracy, is my biggest concern.

Whenever I get any tool with a levelling bubble, my first test goes to the accuracy of that bubble. This tool fails miserably, with both of its bubbles contradicting my faithful and proven accurate 18" level. See the attached pictures. A second test with the laser bubble set level vs the 18" level found the laser line to be off by a little more than 1/32" over the length of the 18" level. With the laser tool placed on the floor and turned on, the laser line was quite visible on the floor for the first 36". After that, it could not be seen until it hit a door and went vertical 23' away. The laser line is approximately 1/16" wide and instructions state to take markings from the center of the line. The wall attachment is a 2" diameter round metal plate that is left attached to the tool while it is being positioned on the wall. The tool is then removed from the plate while the plate is held firmly against the wall. Only a very small area of the plate is accessible (a 90-degree arc with 1/2" radius). This already makes the exercise difficult. The plate is then fixed to the wall to provide a mount for the laser tool. Even without a smooth wall, I don't rate the odds very highly of not moving the metal plate during this process. Since the tool locates positively on the plate, even a small movement would negate the advantage of having an accurate laser level. I would not rely on this tool and cannot recommend it.

This tile and flooring laser square is great it will come in super handy when laying tile and doing other flooring, when laying tile the nice thing about this laser square is you don't have to rely on marks on the floor and the best part is when you put down your mastic which will cover up normal markings it will not cover up the laser line so you can still easily see where to lay your tiles. It has a metal disc which can be secured to the floor and you can attach the laser square to it to keep it securely in place and this can also be used to attach it to walls and it has level vials on it so you can level it on the wall and then you can shoot a level laser line across the wall. I definitely recommend this tool!

I'm remodeling our master bathroom and I'm in the middle of a tile project. This flooring square is the perfect tool - it's just what I need! I've laid a lot of tile over the years and I use and old style jury stick. It works great and it helps me lay the tile nice and straight. My new flooring laser allows me to run straight lines at 90 degree angles. It allows me to keep the tile night and straight. The tool puts out two beams of light at a 90 degree angle. The idea is to line up the light with the corner of the tile. The tool has levels, to make sure the lines will run true. It helps speed up the laying of tile and also keeps everything straight. I don't know how I've been able to lay tile without one of these tools! I should've got one years ago!

I'm getting ready to retile a bathroom and this arrived just in time to test out. It projects a perpendicular pair of bright red laser lines that show up well against a cement board, luan panel, or greenboad substrate. The housing is designed to nestle up to an outside corner where, for example a hallway empties into a room, allowing you to easily extend a straight groutline into the open area from the hall. The 45 degree corners will work well if you are creating a border and then want to lay the field tiles 45 degrees to the border or the wall. A small magnetic fitting allows you to tack this to a wall with a drywall screw for laying out wall tiles or border strips.

I wish I had it years ago. It has two bubble levels for wall use, so it is very helpful on wall tile. I used it on kitchen floor tile, too. The laser beams sure make it simpler to align long runs of tile. It comes with a metal disk that you can mount to the wall or floor, then use the laser's magnets to pivot around the disk. I didn't use this feature, but it looks like it would be handy. It takes 2AA batteries that are included (Duracells in mine). Do pay attention to the laser radiation warnings and don't look at the laser beams. Seems rugged and well-built.
