Questions & Answers

Does it make rows for planting

Asked by: Hi
I did this. Left off the outer tines and tine shield. After tilling back and forth, I used a farrow hoe to make the row and placed a drip line in it. It made the dirt soft and easy to manipulate with the hoe.

are the two outside tines suppose to be loose? it still have rooom and wiggle.

Asked by: sonny
some play is normal but they should be turned when the motor turns the tines

This unit stalls constantly - thirty seconds into engaging the tines, it stalls out after plenty of warm up.

This is a brand new model - it will work for a little while but I have to keep backing off the tines to keep it from stalling out. I don't see an idle adjustment. I'm frustrated!

You need to take it back & exchange it, you got a lemon, mine runs smooth & STRONG! We had to take back a different more expensive model due too the same symptoms your describing, that's how we purchased this one & no problems!

The wheels fold in and allow the bar to dig in. But both fold in while moving across lawn areas, and are too narrow to maintain the tiller in an upright position. This tiller is VERY topheavy and loves to fall over. Your tilling area is fine if perfectly level, but on a slight grade it loves to flop on it's side. Handle is very long, and tough to run in a fenced area. Clutch mechanism has no slippage, so be in position first! I replaced an old Agway unit with this and should have repaired the old one.

Assembly instructions aren't that great but it's simple to assemble and intuitive so not a big deal. Tills great! I tilled a 15ft x 25ft garden that was severely overgrown with weeds and tall grass and this thing handled it wonderfully. Not for the weak though as it tends to grab and pull you if it hits rocks or some hard dirt. If you don't mind a little hard work controlling it then this is a great purchase. Like I said, it tills great, just requires some muscle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Except for a dented fender I discovered when opening the box, everthing was great. You need some muscle to menuver the thing in dry untilled soil, but that's what grown kids are for :) Was able to go pretty deep into the soil. Very satisfied with the machine. I straightened out the fender with a pair of pliers without doing too much damage to the paint. The box was pretty sturdy, so maybe the thing got manhandled before it was placed in the box. Does the job!

Extremely easy to use. have had this product approximately 3 months. It was purchased to break up the ground to level for an above ground pool. Will use it also to till gardens. This unit was a lot more powerful then I expected. The only down fall was it pulls to the lowed dirt side, I think due to it's power. Also will just walk across the area if you let it. Once you get used to this, It's a great machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from day 1. like it Installation for me was a bugger. Mother said it was easy I found it quite difficult. Some of the bolts are metric some are English. So it seems in my bag. It took me and my son about an hour to put it together. The lower handle bolts seemed to cross thred into the tiller. Once we got going it actually works really well. Compared to my Honda small garden tiller this is better. I'm cutting through about 6 inches of topsoil in a space about 30 x 30 and it took less than 40 minutes. I probably went over it two times. I would give five stars except for the installation instructions and cross threading. And keep in mind this is my first day if ownership.

The mud guards are steel, not plastic.,even the paint job is good. This unit is much larger than some others in the same price range. I feel that I got the best value for my money. It started on the first pull and ran well. It is quiet by my standards. I wish everything was made this well. I have only had it for two days but I am impressed overall

Relatively easy to put together. Even after seeing all the reviews warning against putting the tines on backwards, I still did that. Tiller might not be suitable for use by those lacking upper body strength in hard ground.

I received my tiller right on schedule and I have already tilled my garden twice. I feel for the money this was a good deal since renting one can run you a Ben Franklin a day. I like that it starts really easy and I am able to really dig down with the 11 inch tines.
