Asked by: Jtaylor
Make sure the gas tank is full. When it tilts during tilling the gas in the tank shifts.

What duty is this? Is it heavy duty?

Asked by: Chris
Someone said 'Medium' and I agree. That said, I'm putting in a new garden on very rocky soil in the Pa. mountains. The machine bucks a bit when first breaking turf but it does dig in if tilted forward and it pulls out rocks and chews up thick roots. On soil tilled previously it fluffs the ground up very well. I'm happy with it and the price is very good.

Pay the extra money and buy a rear-tine tiller or if you don't have the extra money definitely a different brand. The drag bar has nothing to do with depth control. This machine has lots of power but only wants to dig itself into the ground. You have to muscle this machine around. Diffinately not easy to use. I have been using tillers for over 50 years and by far this is the hardest machine to control I have ever used, and I have used a bunch. I am taking mine back to home depot. The rear wheels shoud be able to be adjusted for depth control but they flatten out behind the tiller when in use, causing the tiller to dig in to the soil and the operator loses their leverage and control of the tiller.

I have only had this tiller for a couple of weeks and used it 3 times, all for short periods of time. We have a small garden plot. My biggest complaint was the assembly of the tiller. It was a bit of a chore to get it together. The side fenders don't line up for all three bolts but was able to get two bolts in. But so far so good. It starts very easily. Three pumps on the primer, switch it to run and one pull it started. It does chew up the ground pretty quickly and it is just like any other tiller. At this time I would recommend it, and I say that only because of the short time and the limited use of it.

This is a weird tiller, based on other tillers I've used through the years. Does it get the job done? Yes. But it takes some practice to master. The motor is powerful enough, but the back wheels/depth gage arrangement is cumbersome. When wheeling around the yard between garden plots the short narrow wheelbase and the top heaviness makes it easy for the tiller to fall sideways and tip over. It's an 'OK' machine but you'll have to use it alot to get used to it.

It performed as good as any other front-tine tiller. The only down side is the full-width bar to engage the drive. Sometimes you want to use the tines to help ease it forward (like drive up an incline). It's a bit of a challenge to do with one hand engaging the drive while the other has a good grip. You pinch your thumb or fingers. It would be much easier to handle with a one-handed lever.

It was delivered to my house ahead of schedule. I'm a 75 y/o woman with no technical savvy, yet I was able to assemble the machine by myself. It's a workhorse. Has tackled ever job perfectly. I just plowed up a never before turned patch for a garden and it tore through tree roots and spit out rocks. It is heavy, but if I can handle it at my age, anyone should be able to use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it The gas is towards the back so unless you keep it topped off with gas, it'll choke out. What a terrible spot for a front tine tiller. Overheats easily. Shuts off constantly. I've owned it for 3 years and I still haven't been able to till my garden all the way with it. Always have to stop and wait for it to cool to do another row. The tines also break easily. Pay extra on a back tine tiller.

It has a high center of gravity. The tines spin too quickly and you can tip it over very easily. You can't "walk" the tiller to a location because there is no control over the speed of the tines like some of the higher quality more robustly made front tine tillers. If you're looking to save money, pass on this junk.

Tiller was easy to assemble but directions could be noted better, only problem i had is the pin holding the drag bar kept snapping. Tiller is a beast i have black clay soil and is hard to work with, but after 3-4 runs thru the soil tiller broke it up with ease.it also starts on first pull i would recommend this tiller it was worth the money i spent...
