    great splitter
Had this splitter for about 7 months now - bought it on sale in Nov 2017 — have split about 4 -5 cords so far - most recently today. My unit came shipped to me via road frieght - i picked it up at the end of my driveway with my tractor and bucket —- assembly was easy - even for this 58 year old man - took anout 45 mins to an hour — added fuel and oil - pulled the recoil and she fired right up — here on my farm i split mostly dead fall - so do far ive split poplar, red oak and hickory—— my largest log was a poplar that was a good 5 ft in diameter (verticle) - i just chipped away at the edges and this mechine tackled the job nicely—- most of my splitting has been in horizinal as i transfer logs from tractor bucket to splitter——i have added log catchets to both sides - these save my back

I used this splitter for 5 hours in the vertical postion and this is what I have discovered. I re-fueled 3 times, it will split 36in width logs no problem, prepare to be the loudest neighbor on the block, careful to not hit tour head on the lever when moving logs, on the automatic return the lever gets pushed back down by the hydraulic hose (could be fixed on my own), the splitter vibrates heavily unless when splitting (worried it may loosen bolts or screws), do not put more than 3.5 gallons of hydraulic fluid in splitter (it will heat and expand, then force its way out the fill cap), have not tested it being towed, I was able to assemble this all by myself, overall a great purchase so far.

oh my gosh. I used it for the first time, yesterday. My brother taught me to use it. It's so much fun, and cuts the wood like butter. Also, I had a grand time being entertained by the staff at Home Depot when they creatively helped my brother to load that 25 Ton splitter into his truck. I'll likely think about that just about every time I use my splitter. Easy to use. Effective. Efficient. I'm sure it will pay for itself over the years we use it to split wood for fireplace and fire pit.

This splitter was straight forward to assemble, but you definitely need two adults to do it. It started immediately and runs very smooth. Best of all it is easy to use, works very smoothly and splits wood with ease, even 18 inch diameter, two foot long sweet gum and walnut. We split over a cord in about an hour. It is now fun and therapeutic to split wood.

My only source of heat is two fireplaces, so I go through a lot of wood. My 17 year old logsplitter decided he really doesn't like "sledge and a wedge" and got really lazy, so I decided to buy something I could rely on. I had the unit shipped to my local store and assembled it at home. Instructions were easy to follow and it took maybe 3-4 hours to put together. Biggest thing is- GET HELP for the beam! That is the heaviest part and it doesn't like a light touch. I initially had a hard time getting the engine to start, and after about 2 dozen pulls, realized I forgot to turn the fuel valve on- so totally my fault but also a really nice feature to have! After that, the engine started on the first pull. I ran a full tank of fuel through the engine and cycled the hydrolics for a bit before I split my first log (maybe all my experience breaking in lots of small engines from my RC airplanes days), but I haven't had a single hiccup with the splitter. I have- so far- split around 5 cords of pinyon pine and Western cedar. The splitter (so far) handles everything I throw at it with barely a sigh (unlike my teenager who complains he can't keep up with stacking everything I split). And, so far- the splitter cuts through anything I throw at it like butter! Best choice I think I've made when it has come to heating my house!

I recently purchased this incredible splitter and used it 13 hours over a 4 day period. It outperformed my expectations in every way. It split some logs that were 24 inches in diameter with ease. The unit was designed to ensure that when logs fall off the rail they do not fall onto any unit parts. It towed well and was easy to hitch. Wow....what a great price for a wonderful piece of machinery. I have nothing to say other than great things about this incredible value!
