I had high hopes. 2nd 8wk application killed grass
I reseeded my lawn by the book last fall (Oct 17) using a slit seeder and Titan Tall fescue seed. By March/April my grass was amazing, the best in the neighborhood. Thick green and lush! I applied Preen One in March ( I am in Charlotte NC) to take advantage of its pre-emergent as well as existing weed control. The few weeds that I had were gone within a couple of weeks and the grass looked great. I had to mow it twice a week. Then 8 wks later I applied Preen one again, as recommended, and as directed. Within two weeks large patches of my grass were turning brown. Now it looks terrible. We have had plenty of rain, and I cannot fathom any other reason for the dead grass. I am very disappointed after spending so much time and money this year to finally have a great lawn.

Thank you for your inquiry! We apologize that Preen One Lawncare did not perform as you expected. Preen One Lawncare this product contains three products in one (no need for three separate products). Following is some helpful information on this product: when applied as label directed, it will help to prevent crabgrass seeds from germinating, plus, it will help to kill young crabgrass plants (up to approximately 4 weeks old, and less than 2" in diameter), and, it will help to kill only the listed broadleaf weeds (ie: dandelions) that are present at application time (it does not prevent new broadleaf weeds from appearing), that are young/actively growing. Plus, it feeds your lawn for up to 2 - 3 months. Apply to a non-stressed qualifying and established lawn in mid-to-late late spring when there is constant warm soil temperatures, when as many as the listed broadleaf weeds are visible and young/actively growing (keep in mind that this product does not prevent new ones from coming up). No mowing 3 days prior to application and no mowing 3 days after application. Apply to a wet lawn (ie: morning dew) that also has good warm soil moisture, and, no rain and/or water for at least 24 - 48 (preferably 48 hours) hours after application; at which time a thorough rain and/or watering should occur. Also, you mentioned plenty of rain in your area which can cause your lawn to have fungus and mold issues. We would recommend contacting your local county cooperative extension for advice on the brown spots on your lawn.

Easy lawn weed control
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this few weeks ago haven't had a chance to apply it to my grass due to snow and rain almost every other day. It was simple to apply easy to see the blue and white particles spread and the instruction where straight to point on how to use.

Powerful product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always buy preen products for my flower beds so buying preen for my lawn was a no brainer. I was very excited and impressed how there is 3 different lawn cares in one product which makes it less work for me. It stops crab grass, kills weeds and feeds the lawn all in one application. It’s always so hard to find the time to do all the different steps to my lawn so this makes it very simplified. This product makes taking care of my lawn so much more easier.

So Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was easy to follow the directions on the bag of Preen One Lawncare. I used my spreader to apply it. It spread evenly and did not clump up. I love the fact that it is a weed killer and fertilizer in one. I also like the fact that after it rains or you water, 24 hours and it is safe for pets. It is still early spring here in Illinois, so I will have to update this review at a later time. My 5 star review is based on past use of Preen One and how effective it has been and how easy it is to apply. I normally have an issue with Dandelions and Crabgrass. In the past Preen One has worked great keeping them away. I look forward to a greener lawn!

Looking Forward to a Clean, Green Lawn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Preen products on my lawn for years, as a cost-effective alternative to other, needlessly-more-expensive options. Compare the ingredients of Preen to others, you'll see for yourself that Preen is a clear winner in cost and action. Preen always gives my lawn the look I want -- green and weed-free. I'm giving Preen One an early four stars, based on past Preen results. We're still in the colder months in PA; so, I haven't been able to apply One yet, as it's a post-emergent (and not a pre-emergent, like most lawn-care products), which is pretty exciting given, despite best efforts, you're bound to see a weed or two on your lawn (especially pesky dandelions, from seeds that blow in from your neighbors' lawns), even with treatments. Based simply on the Preen name and reputation I've come to expect during my 20+ years of lawn-care experience, I have little doubt One will work as advertised -- i.e., handling the host of lawn invaders shown in the pics provided.

Awesome fertilizer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used preen products in the past for garden control of weeds, but this one is I’ll be able to use this summer on my yard more than once if needed. It’s nice to have the weed and feed with added crab grass killer. I’ll be able to get more than one use out of it using it on the front and back yard.

DID NOT KILL BROADLEAF WEEDS — My first reaction to the Preen 18 lb. One Lawncare product was that it was a great lawn product. It should be a real time-saver since it enables fertilizing, spreading preemergent for crabgrass, and killing broadleaf weeds to be performed in a single operation. Weed and feed products have been available for some time but this product is the first I am aware of to do all three tasks. What I liked best is that the material is pelletized, not flaky, and not granular which makes for much easier application. I was dubious about spreading the product on damp grass with a drop spreader for fear that the dampness would cause the spreader to become clogged if it made contact with the material. There was no problem with the pelletized product. The pelletized formulation also made the cleanup easy. The preemergent for crabgrass is supposed to last an entire season. Our lawn season lasts from 7-8 months so it will be interesting to see if the product is effective for that long. Another feature of the preemergent component of the product is that it may be applied up to four weeks after the crabgrass has germinated thus allowing a wide interval for applying the product in the spring. The weed killer is listed to kill every broadleaf weed that we have ever seen in our lawn. The fertilizing was obvious in a short time, but we will have to wait to verify the absence of crabgrass. Unfortunately though after 10 days, the broadleaf weeds seem to be alive. Maybe more time is needed but with previous broadleaf weed killers, the weeds would begin to die after a few days. One hypothesis is that the pellets did not make a good contact with the broadleaf leaves. The product is not appropriate for an area where you have reseeded or plan to reseed.

Thank you for your review! Preen ONE Lawncare is one application that contains 3 lawn treatments. This product is a pre-emergent for crabgrass, post-emergent for broadleaf weeds, and fertilizer. In order for the post-emergent treatment to be effective, broadleaf weeds must be up and actively growing. This product is to be applied to a wet/moist lawn followed by no rain/watering for 24-48 hours. You will then begin to see the broadleaf weeds shrivel up and die between 7-10 days. We do stand by out product so if you feel if you have applied this product accordingly and are unsatisfied, please feel free to contact us at customerservice@lebsea.com. preen
