It is designed to just hold a mattress, not the box spring as well.
You can put a mattress and a box spring on the Prepac Platform Bed, however a box spring is not required, the slat support system needs nothing more than your mattress.
There is no wood in this bed- just cheap particle board and lame oak grain plastic vinyl on it. I busted mine putting it together and tossed it in garbage- DO NOT BUY
Call PrePac company in Arizona, who are the manufacturers.Mine arrived damaged. so I returned this product.Mine came with instructions but I wouldn't bother wasting my time due to the inferior composite wood of the slats, three of which were broken.
Mine is solid and doesn’t creak.
I believe so. This bed has a solid platform holding the mattress (versus slats). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have additional questions.
Yes, it can. It mainly consists of separating the head & foot panels from the side panels. All of the other hardware can stay attached. Just pack the components with blankets so your parts don't get scratched. Please email email@example.com if you require additional information.
I bought mine last year, but it did contain all that was needed and there was only one large box. I do love it because it seems to make the room larger. Just make sure you have a good supply of band-aids on hand! The corners have given me several bleeding wounds until I got used to moving around it differently!
I would not attach anything to this as it is cheap particle board, not even the dense type- vinyl tape with oak grain on it-
These Prepac headboards are also freestanding and do not need to be attached to the bed
