A:Â Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. It is designed for 90 degrees. If you choose to put it to whichever wall or tub that is not, you would have to fill in the gap with extra mildew resistance caulking adhesive stabilizing it until the adhesive cured.

A:Â Yes, but you will have to first use a small bead of Liquid Nail or other adhesive to position them to be correct before caulking around them.

A:Â Dint know, not going to use them. They came with nothing to install them, ie silicone. And these are really ugly!
by|Apr 21, 2021
A:Â Yes, you can. I had the same situation where the angle wasn't 90 degrees. However, you can shift the guards to make it work. Any gap can be chalked. Be sure to clean the surface (I used rubbing alcohol) prior to chalking.

A:Â I did that with mine.. have a shower curtain.. all ya gotta do is "stick it" in place.... I recommend GE no 10... silicone caulk comes in a smaller tube, sets up in 30 minutes.. it's anti mold... white.

A:Â Yes, they are perfect for that application, the same reason I purchased them.

A:Â Yes. That was our situation as well. We have a shower/tub combination with a shower curtain, and had problems of water running over the side of the tub at the ends, where the shower curtain meets the walls. The splash guards have stopped all overflowing water at the ends of the curtain.

A:Â I believe they are designed for tubs with curtains. I don't think they would serve any purpose if you had doors.

No More Wet Floor
After weeks of strategically placing and wadding up towels on the bathtub edge and floor to catch the daily accumulation of water from the shower, taking the time to install this splash guard solved the problem in one day (accounting for time necessary for the adhesive to cure). What you see is what you'll get, however, i.e., no adhesive strips, no instructions. Just a pair of guards in a bag. You'll need as close to a 90-degree angle as possible between the shower wall and the top surface of the tub for this product to fit properly. In my case, the guard I needed - the one adjacent to the shower head - fit flush like it should. I opted not to install the rear guard (which I really didn't need) because there would've been intolerable gaps. I was dealing with something greater than a 90-degree angle back there. You'll need to apply bathroom grade adhesive caulk to the bottom and back surface of the guard and use lengths of tape to hold the guard in place while the caulk cures. I used packing tape. After the caulk sets up, you'll want to caulk the inner and outer edges completely for a good seal, and for a "finished" appearance. In the end, this thing set up hard as a rock and looks like it belongs there. As others have commented, a liberal scrub of the mounting surfaces with some isopropyl alcohol is a good prep step to ensure proper adhesion. All in all, a cheap fix for a very annoying and potentially damaging problem.

Not a 90° flush against my bath tub. Line up on bottom part and it pulls away from upper portion. I just called it & held in place with duct tape until dry. Made it work. Material of the splash guard is sturdy.

They are a little wonky to apply. You definitely need silicone caulk. We had to gorilla tape the piece to the tub as it was drying. Once dry it is all good but it would be better if they sent instructions & suggested which silicone caulk as we based everything we did off of other reviews.
