Product Details

This flip-action door lock is constructed of steel and it comes in a brass-plated finish. It features an anti-lockout screw for child safe mode, and it is reversible for use on both left and right-handed, swing-in, residential doors. This privacy lock is for use on interior doors only, as it is not designed for use as a security device on entry doors where higher security is required. This lock mounts on the surface of the doorjamb with only 2 screws, and it can usually be installed without mortising. Installation is a breeze, and operating the lock could not be any easier. This lock engages with a simple flip of the hinged wing, and it is favored by many.
  • Privacy lock designed for residential use and for interior doors only. Note: This lock should not be used as a security device on entry doors

The issue is the loose leaf will be hanging down and interfere with open/closing of door.           We have a little one who has figured out how to unlock the deadbolt and this flip lock seemed like the easiest and most economical way to contain him. This is simple to install and use. It took me about 5 minutes to install it on the door jamb. All you need is a drill with a 3/32” bit and a Philips screw driver. I’m not sure why they include a small screw to keep it from locking (it kind of defeats the purpose). Besides, it is really easy to remove if it’s not going to be used anymore.
