This is a problem getting the correct size to seal the door gap. You may want to try lowering the bottom seal that fits in the door and use silicone so It wont slip down any further. The real problem is when It's to long and keeps the door from closing correctly. You may want to keep looking for the correct size If available. Then when you find one that works buy more than one. They really need to be replaced every 6 months.

Can I use this on the side of the door instead of the bottom?

I wouldn’t think it would work, this is the sweep for the bottom. The are other steps that are applicable to sealing the vertical portion of the door.

I bought mine over 2 years ago. It has never discolored, but has gotten moldy. The simple solution is to spray some mold/mildew remover and then use some steel wool. It will look like new. I do not think caulk is your solution since it is an inexpensive item to start with and easily removable, and it does snug tightly to the glass door. If you caulk, then you would need to cut and remove caulk to replace with a newer trim. My original bottom door seal was replaced since the flexible dual sweep was ripping and coming off. It was an easy switch with the new bottom door seal. Very easy to cut to size and install. My reco would be to not caulk it in place.

Will this work for sliding shower doors?

Asked by DM October 20, 2018

Not really. It is a sweep made for the bottoms of swinging shower doors. The angled fin on the left of the picture is stiff plastic and meant to face the inside of the shower, reflecting the water away from the gap at the bottom of the door. The two fins at the bottom of the picture are flexible rubber and work more like a windshield wiper to push any water on the shower entry step back towards the shower drain.

Can it be cut to shorten the length?

Yes. Cut it with utility knife or hacksaw

Is this installed with the deflector on the outside? Thats the way my existing sweep has it. You’d think the deflector would be placed on the wet side

The deflector should be installed to the inside of the shower.

How do you install it without removing the door? Does it slide on?

Yes,,it slides on. I put a little Vaseline on the door to begin sliding. It never discolored the glass. Be sure to cut to the exact length of the door AND check for possible angle cuts to allow the door to swing inside the shower.

This plastic has very little "give" in it so I don't think it will work on much of a curve.

The flange ripped after one month.
I installed this bottom seal on May 6. By June 4, it had ripped. I will purchase a better quality seal next.

Delivered to store on time. This item was used to replace original lower door seal on Vigo frameless shower door. Works great! This design is an improvement over the OEM seal. Provides better inside water diversion to the shower base. I did have to adjust the door height however that was likely due to hinge wear.

I would recommend this product . We picked it up 3 weeks ago from the store. I had it shipped to my local Home Depot after I ordered it and it arrived when expected. The product is exactly how you see it. It works great on our Euro shower door. The water does not leak under the door any more onto to the floor like it use too. The material is very good quality.

This product was easy to install and solved my issue.
Wee had a new custom shower built in our master bath. However. The glass door was installed in such away that water constantly spilled under the door and on to the floor. This product eliminated the problem and did not detract from the look at all.

This replaced an eight year old strip that was installed when my shower was remodeled. I'm hoping this one lasts as long. It prevents water from getting under the door very well. It was a very tight fit but installing it in the middle of winter didn't help. Warming the strip up to 80+ deg F. did. I used a hacksaw blade to cut it to length and to notch both ends to fit around some vertical sealing strips. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it.
