In a standard entry way without the existence of any extra security door hardware, there are a few areas on the door and the door jamb that are vulnerable to entry by force. On the door jamb they are the thin wood sections between the strike hole mounting screws that remains after mortising out the jamb for the knob and deadbolt latch. On the door itself, it is the thin section of material that remains on the interior and exterior side of the door’s edge once the holes are drilled out on its edge for the installation of the knob and deadbolt latch. This door reinforcer can assist in protecting the strength of the door panel from being easily compromised by a would-be intruder who would attempt to pry, or kick-in the door by force. This item should be used in combination with security strikes mounted on the door jamb for optimal performance and security.
