A:  I'm not sure, but it is a waste of money if you go in and out of that door a lot. I had to buy 2 metal handles and put them on each side of the door, just so I can open and close it better.

Q:I bought what I thought was an exact replacement latch, but it had four screws which must be screwed directly into the screen door frame. I need the latch where the two plastic halves are held together by two screws, with one half having female threads.

A:  The latch should be one piece with handle that moves up & down.I glued mine but I don"t know how long it will last. There is a striker piece on my frame.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. The "keeper/strike" for this handle is a discontinued item A 125. An alternative is item A 159.

            Please read before installing
If you are ordering this it must be a replacement latch/lock for a screen door you own. If you have never replaced this part before, please read this before you start. The instructions are not that useful. There is a small black rectangular part which functions as the tab to move the metal bar up and down to lock and unlock the screen. The instructions make it sound like the black button on the back of this piece snaps into the hole in the metal bar. We couldn't get it to snap in and ordered this product a second time thinking there was something wrong with the first one we got. In fact this piece does not actually snap into the hole. The instructions tell you to start about a 1/2 inch above or below your final position for good reason. When you line up the black piece in its space and press the button into the hole in the metal bar, you then have to move the black piece up (or down) until it's in its final position. When you do this you will see a small flexible tab at the side of the space. It is this tab which actually holds the black rectangular piece in place. I have enclosed a copy of the diagram from the instructions with a red circle showing where this tab is located. It is not shown in any of the instruction pictures, or even mentioned, but it is at the side of the space where circled in the picture. After you slide the black rectangle into place you will feel that it is being held there by the tab and not about to fall out (which it will do until you get it centered). Then you can go ahead and screw everything together. If you don't do it this way, the black rectangle will just keep falling out of the hole you think it's supposed to snap into. To repeat, the button at the back of the rectangle does not snap firmly into the hole in the metal bar. It just fits in there while you push it up or down (depending on which way your door faces) into place next to the flexible tab, which is what holds it from falling out.

This was easy to install. The only problem is the latch would tilt when you pulled up on the slide. The internal clearance was small causing the tilt. After filing a little, it worked great than.

It barely works, had to modify it to use it.

            Very fragile
I was careful during installation because of the product reviews but the tab holding the slide broke off during installation. Also, measure the holes in your door before ordering to insure the three inch model will fit.

Easy to install and lightweight. It fit exactly where the old one was.

The quality was acceptable, but I can see why the 1st one broke. Cheap plastic. Also, the packaging could use some improvement. There is a big square hole in the back and either someone stole the metal latch, or it slipped out. Luckily I still had the latch from the original that broke. This product would be better overall if it were made with only metal.

Product is very fragile, it broke on first try lifting the handle to unlock, and the looking latch went all loose,
