    A:  Curt99, If your decorative decisions call for paint, make sure the wood is dry before application. Pour some water over the surface. If it beads, wait; if it seeps into the wood, it's ready to paint.

      A:  ZJDiy, It would be recommended to use an exterior grade adhesive as these have not been tested to use with Simpson Strong Tie Post Base Brackets.

        Q:Could someone tell me the true internal size of these post skirts? Prior answers varie from 4' to 3 5/8" . It's ridiculous I even have to ask. It should be stated in the description.

          A:  They are 3 5/8. I bought 18 of them to be returned now. Too big. Most posts shrink to 3.25 but no one sells that size unfortunately

              Inconsistent sizes.
              I bought 14 of these and noticed the first one was a bit loose but nothing anyone else would notice. After opening a few more they just got worse. One had a bigger gap than the gap I was trying to cover in the deck.

                Too large!
                Incorrect sizing. Very unhappy I spent the time painting these to match my white trim and there is a noticeable gap. Not a good product.

                    I keep getting reminders to review this - I haven’t had time to install them yet, but they seem like they will work ok. A lot of reviews I read said they were way too big, but these seem pretty snug around my porch posts. If I have issues when I do get around to installing them (or feel they should be rated higher), I will update my review.
