This fixture is dimmable when used with compatible wall dimmer and with light bulbs that can be dimmed.
Sizing for Close-to-Ceiling
A general rule to determine what size fixture to select is to add together the width and length of the room. The total equals approximately how many inches the light’s width should be. For example, for a 10-foot by 12-foot room, select a fixture about 22 inches in width.

The Progress Lighting Inspire brushed nickel flush mount not only looks simple and elegant, but also provides the perfect amount of light. The linen shade provides the added quality of texture. Please note that whoever installs the shade must handle it gingerly as to not dent the linen shade - this is not a defect - any truly linen backed lamp shade would do the same. Also, there is a seam because the shade is made with linen material, so situate the seam so it faces an interior side wall and no one will notice it! Any shade made of real material cannot be produced without a seam.
We love the look and the lighting the lights provide. We highly recommend the Progress Inspire brushed nickel flush mount for a transitional, clean crisp look to your hall lighting!

Beautiful Lights!
Perfect replacements the cheap-o boob lights the builders installed in our home almost 20 years ago.
The single-page instructions provide an illustration showing each piece as a letter, and then a written list of which letters/parts to affix to the next. A bit challenging to read, as some pieces aren’t illustrated with enough detail to distinguish them from others.
Also had a minor hiccup with the plate at the bottom - it wouldn’t sit flush against the drum. We fixed by undoing a few steps and adjusting the bracket screws. Wasn’t a big deal, worth the effort.
really happy with this purchase. Our hallway looks so much better and it’s much brighter!
TL;DR
- installation is a bit cumbersome, but it’s not a deal breaker
- price point is amazing for these polished lights
- drum is a true, bright white
- texture on the drum is subtle, not noticeable once installed
- LEDs significantly brighten our hallway without being too intense
- bronze finish matches well with oil-rubbed bronze fixtures in our home

Love and Hate relationship
CONS: Wow the set up for this light fixture is absolutely horrible !!! poor instructions, it is literally just photos and you have to guess what goes where. They were even extra parts that came with the light that I didn't even use? You really need someone who is handy and knows lighting / electric. I had someone help me as i could not do it by myself, no clue what i was doing. I bought 3 of these lights, really not looking forward to setting the rest up though ! Took about 40 mins to set up one light.
PROS: I only have one pro and that is I do LOVE how the light came out. I read all the horrible reviews and decided to take a chance anyway. I guess you have to put in that work, to have something nice. If you have someone who is handy then i would say this light fixture is worth it because it does look beautiful and clean once installed and that was the look i was going for.

Being a industrial maintenance electrician and supervisor for 53 years it only took fifteen minutes to install the fixture. This is the second one of these fixtures we have installed. Being LED fixtures they generate power savings and last longer. Both room are now twice as bright.

Cheap quality, ugly, horrible instructions
The title says it all. It looks awful installed. The “flush mount” isn’t flush; there is an inch gap between the shade and the ceiling which gives it a halo effect when the light is on. The instructions are atrocious. It’s one picture with no explanation of which washers go where. Thankfully I’ve done enough of these types of lights in the pass that I could figure it out.
