A transfer switch is expensive(600-1000$) and you get 6-10breakers only. You can add a double breaker(60amp) right next to the main - this will feed the entire panel from gen. Then fit a spacer between the main breaker and the gen, so that the 2 breakers can not be on simultaneously. You can mount a 30amp220v or 50amp220v power inlet outside your home, that connects the 2 120v hots and common to the gen breaker. Then buy an 8ga 50amp generator cable. This will connect your gen to your inlet outside the house. You just need to do some research on balancing loads on the main in your home, on gauging your system(30amp/50amp), measure loads. But this is the cheapest easiest way... you turn the main off, power up the gen, then turn the gen breaker on and your whole house is powered up. This ran me about 300$(180$ was the 75ft 50amp 8ga gen cable) lijbu8@gmail.com if you need more details

Powerful and runs well. For the money I would expect better fit and finish and engineering missed the mark on position of equipment for ease of use. The battery hold down clamp was held on by bolts that are too short so assembler just torqued the heck out of them had drill out to remove battery tapped new holes and installed better quality. LPG connection is too close to frame so awkward to connect hose. Installed 90 degree fitting to give better access and supplied hose came w/o o-ring so have new hose. 50 amp connector too close to wheel but can still plug in...just another example of engineers not thinking about use. Would still recommend just prepare for some minor improvements out of box

Bought a portable, permits for a permanent unit in Naples is a nightmare.
Bought a portable, permits for a permanent unit in Naples is a nightmare. I takes over three months to get approvals, unit has to be on a re-bar enforced slab and many more restrictions. Oh yes, you need an architectural rendition to start. I received cost figures of up to $2,500 just to get all this done. I did check with Pulsar and they said I can have the gas company replace the regulator on the machine to a high pressure one and then tie it into my 750 galleon tank. Living in south Florida it is a luxury not having to worry about LP gas levels from a small tanks during a hurricane. I vowed not to buy anything made in China any more, if possible. I was shocked to see the etched words, made in China. I called and was ready to return it, but found it was made in Viet Nam. The frame was the only thing made in China. The directions are very skimpy and not detailed, but I managed through it. After the fact, it did not take much to do. The battery cables need to be connected, but not mentioned at all. My technical skills are not deep, I admit. The oil gauge it mentions in the book does not exist, so be careful not to over fill. It takes about 1.5 quarts to register full on the dip stick. Once finished it started like a CHAMP! This unit can run one air conditioner and my whole kitchen living area, entertainment center and wine coolers. It can handle more if necessary. Very impressed with the quality of the Pulsar and their customer service is excellent!
