This is the best thing since sliced bread!!! We have west facing window & door onto a deck and lower angle of roof - the afternoon sun is brutal! Previously, I had a large umbrella in a stand, tilted to to cast some shade - which blocked the view + was awkward to get around. This half round umbrella is PERFECT solution! It acts like an awning without the expense and effort. Husband attached to house with pvc pipe and that is another great solution! Very pleased with this product.

Has anyone found a good base to go with a half umbrella? It seems that the imbalanced weight causes the umbrella to lean forward, or maybe I got a bad base. I’ve returned it and am looking for one that will work so the umbrella doesn’t lean.

The umbrella is a great idea- however has big problems for my particular use. The crank handle is completely covered by the umbrella when it's closed, making it difficult to access the handle to open and close regularly. so if like me, you plan to open and close regularly, it's not easy to do and a bit of a pain. If you plan to leave it open, then this would not be a problem. The fabric is fairly thin and I imagine it wouldn't last through more than a year or two max depending on your weather/sun conditions. Nice color (dusty green).
