Solid Unit / Lousy Battery Compartment
I cannot understand why a reputable company (Pyle Audio) would build such a robust piece of electronics and render it nearly useless by incorporating a fragile plastic battery drawer that will not stay closed. Trying to test a cable is made a hassle because taking your thumb off the battery drawer causes it to slide open and cut power to the unit. Thus, you never really know if there's a short in your cable or a short in the cable tester itself. The unit works fine when there's power to it, so I suppose an easy fix would be to throw a piece of duct tape over the battery drawer. However, if I'm going to have a "professional" tester that looks like a toy, I might as well just buy one of the cheap ones at Radio Shack. By the way, I have contacted Pyle twice by e-mail and once by phone to see if they have a fix for this problem. I believe I was diplomatic in my messages. So far, they have not responded.

This is a great product
I bought two of these audio testers. They work wonderfully. But I do wish they would have come with some sort of instructions. It took me a while but I eventually figured it out... I think. But besides the lack of any type of paper work this product is very well made. and a wonderful value.
