I discovered today that the heat from the stove was going up the feed tubes into the hoppers. I was getting a lot and I mean a lot of smoke out of the stove and opened the hoppers to find them full of smoke and pellets charred. I sent a message to QStoves but no reply yet. Other then that I love the stove.

I fired it up as Warmitup suggested and it worked fine. QStoves also replied and pretty much said the same thing. For those people who say the stove doesn't put out much heat I'm here to tell you it does! I bought this stove to replace an electric stove. It worked ok but only directed the heat forward when the fan kicked in. This stove radiates heat all the way around with out a fan and it much hotter! Thanks for the reply and I'm sure we'll enjoy using the stove. I'll also be sure not to leave it alone.

NOTE: The instructions for first use are unclear. Do NOT fill the hopper full of pellets the first time. Only fill with enough to fill the "tubes" that run from the hopper to the fire box. I didn't do this, and the fire went up the tube & into one of the hoppers, causing the paint to partially cure on that side. It made a sticky mess and I'm not sure it can be fixed (see photo). The only other bad thing is the way the pellets are prevented from flowing from the hopper to the fire box. There is a gate on each side, but it is very difficult to control the amount of pellets that drop - it's all or nothing. There doesn't seem to be anything in the instructions about this.

Stove heats 7-10 foot radius. Full hoppers will burn 3 hours or so. I have it near a brick wall that reflects heat. Highly recommend this little heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It heats up It heats up so much it glows red. I got it over 1200 degrees. Give that eyelet under the door a jiggle back and forth and within a second it starts roaring! There is a lip at the door that keeps pellets from falling out when the door is opened. I got this for my wall tent for elk season. It will probably be the last heater I'll ever need or want being I wont have to fill up my truck bed with split wood anymore.
