Questions & Answers

can i use this saw to cut thru limestone 2in. thick

Asked by: bird
No. That's too thick. The bit can handle 1 1/4 in. material. You might try doing one side to 1 inch and then flipping it over and completing the hole, but that would leave you high and dry if you made even one small calculation mistake in hole placement.

Will this work for a 1 1/8" Quartz countertop? How messy is it? Does water get everywhere? Counter is part of built-in cabinet/book case unit and I need to drill in place. I'd like a hole there for passing cords through. Speaking of, I don't see many 1 3/8" cable grommets. And I don't see many diamond hole saws "with water delivering system" in other sizes!
Asked by: jmoutray
this should work, as for water it holds a very little amount so the hole saw can cut with ease

I used it on a granite slab with an 18v brushless Milwaukee. It only took about two minutes to go through the slab. Very clean and neat hole. Would highly recommend

I was replacing my kitchen sink today and found out that the existing hole in my granite countertop was too small (non-standard). I was nervous about cutting it myself because I had never cut anything like granite before. Long story short, I bought this product and it worked great. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and I had a new hole for $20.

We were able to drill the hole in the granite countertop using this hole saw with the water delivery system. The adhesive gaskets did not stick to the countertop when the water was poured in. We had one person holding the cup in position while the other drilled. It worked but was a little awkward.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Qep 1-3/8 in diamond hole saw does in fact... The Qep 1-3/8 in diamond hole saw does in fact work. For best results use on softer materials. on 3/8 thick ceramic tiles it will work but for about 4 or 5 holes and the diamonds wear off fast. All in all it does get the job done depending on type of tile and number of holes to cut.
