      Answer This Question

A:  “stone grout float” means it’s a little softer and less likely to damage very soft natural stone. Nothing wrong with using it on harder tiles. If the edges of your mosaic are sharp, this might wear a bit faster.

A:  I just used it on mosaic for a bathroom backsplash and above the shower. It was fine. It's going to be a matter of the grout consistency and thoroughness of application. I found the slight flex on the ends beneficial for insuring the grout completely filled the grout line spaces.

A:  Yes, this grout float can be used to apply grout to natural stone tile, as well as porcelain and ceramic. It will work on both smooth and textured tiles. -Alexis, Customer Care

This is a well made float. The handle is molded without any sharp edges, and the rubber for the float is medium stiffness. There is no metal reinforcement under the rubber. I like it a little better than the stiffer types. It also makes it very light. I wear Men's size Large gloves and the handle just fits my hand - and fits nicely! People with very large hands would probably find it too small.

GROUTING STONE FLOAT 3.5 inches ,colorful red, yellow and blue. You won't loose this float. I have been placing tile in my homes for thirty five years. This float with with it's contoured, high impact handle offers strength and durability. The sides of the float are beveled for a clean draw. One side of the float has rounded edges and the opposite side are square edges to fit into corners.I used the float for some grout repairs in our center bathroom and it worked like a charm.

This float works well. It is flexible and works similar to a squeegee enabling it to push all the grout where it needs to go without sticking to the float and causing pile up and inconsistent patterns. Because it is flexible, it is also able to work a little better with tiles that may not all be level. Then again, it is flexible which could be a problem for some users. Some may prefer a more solid float that will not flex at all. This is not that float, but works wonderfully. Great float.

The QED Stone Grout Float tool seems to be well made. The handle is comfortable. It has two corners that are square, and two corners that are 3/8” diameter rounded. It is difficult to misplace with its bright combination of red, yellow, and blue colors. I used the grouting tool on my kitchen back splash with Polyblend non-sanded grout. The tool’s base is a firm flexible siliconized rubber, firmer than some other grouting tools, allowing for easy placement of the grout into 1/8” seams. The tool removes excess grout very well. (The back splash was from Home Depot – Polar Ice Mosaic – 12” x 12” sheets consisting of multiple smaller 1 1/8 x ½ inch segments of marble and glass.) After grouting approximately 13 square feet of tile there was no apparent wear on the tool – with non-sanded grout. The edges seem quite durable. Clean up was no problem if grout was not left to set up on the tool, otherwise some scrubbing and scraping was necessary. Negative: the bottom of the tool is not quite flat – slightly concave around the perimeter – causing it to not be as effective when used for pushing against smaller tiles to assure level firm positioning against the substrate while placing with thin set mortar. However, this does seem to make the scraping action of the tool work well. Made in China.

It's a float, a colorful float. Anyway, it has a decent enough weight to it, it looks good but most of all it does what it is supposed to do and that is push the grout into the tile joints. This one feels like it is a solid rubber base, I have always used floats with rubber and sponge base but always found it hard to compact the material into the joints and always having to go over the same area 4 or 5 times. I like this float the corners are both square edged and rounded. Not sure how long it will last but seems durable at the moment.

Not what I hoped it to be
While it does not wear as quickly, it also leaves surface grout behind, moreso than standard gum float. I definitely prefer the stiffer edge of the gum float.

Great grout float. It has a super comfortable handle and the rubber quality of the float is excellent. After grouting about 120 sq ft combo of floors and walls it's held up well and looks as good as it did after I purchased it.
