Questions & Answers

does this come w/ a blade?

Asked by: Mr. Lee in Clev
Yes it does, a basic standard one

My tile doesn't go past the blade guard screws and bracket.

When my tile got to the screws that hold the blade guard bracket it stopped. It also was hitting against the guard bracket at the back. the bracket seems to be a bent toward the left from the bottom, not a true 90 degrees.
Asked by: GailAnn
The blade guard needs to be aligned with the blade, you can unscrew it and adjust.

where do you put the water

Asked by: chuck
Lift up the metal table top on right side and pour in water until it reaches the reservoir overflow.

Is the guide bar a quick release adjustment or does it require tools in between each measurement?

Some saw I see with a guide bar requires the secure/release of 1-2 nuts between each adjustment. Does this have a quick release mechanism that allows the guide bar to quickly change positions on different size cuts?
Asked by: UtahGuy
It is a quick release but ensuring the adjustment is square (same on both sides) can be a pain so it isn't that quick

I have nothing to compare this to as I bought it for my first tiling project of a backsplash using domino size marble herringbone style tiles. This required MANY cuts, all on angles. While this saw isn't ideal for small tile, it worked, just depending on marked tile and close hand holding of tile through saw. The guide was pretty worthless for my small tile even when in 1 ft sq. mats. The angle guide would maybe be useful for larger tile but not for my small tile. All had to be cut by hand. Very durable motor and blade with no issues. It could use more surface space in front of blade to support tile mats. I stacked some wood blocks in front to give more support to tile mats as I cut them. Water system seemed to work well as long as you periodically rinsed/added clean water. Be prepared for a wet mess under and in front of saw. It definitely was worth the $100 not to hire someone for the project and it came out nice.

But for me it was perfect!! For $99 it was not a $300 saw. You need to use it as intended. I cut 12 by 12 porcelain tiles and had nothing but success. A little slow? Yes. Measure the guides when you set them. Do not rely on the markings on the table. The water reservoir is not large. The motor is not hefty. But I got the whole job done and it only cost $99!! If you are a contractor this is not for you. If you are wealthy this is not for you. If you are an average Joe, like me, that does weekend jobs for the wife then you will love it. I would buy it again.

I bought it after we bought larger tiles for the bathroom and none of the rental tools would work so we bought this. I tiled two different bathrooms and back splashed the kitchen with this and never had a single problem. The only downside of this wet saw is how hard it is to get the guide lined up correctly. Some of the numbers are black on black and the guide covers them up. I used my tape measure to make sure it was correct. This thing is a work horse and it's just a little more expensive than renting an industrial one for the day.

Took this QEP 7" Wet tile saw home to use it for special custom cuts I needed too make on my finished basement new porcelain floor tile job I'm completing. It was very easy to complete blade & parts assembly, and was up using it in a few minutes. The blade wetting feature is great, no splashing, the diamond blade the comes with the saw cut very clean & neat. I'm very pleased with the purchase of the QEP 7" Wet tile saw. I'm sure with my developed tile work skills I'll be going to this saw to handle all types of tile cutting. I would recommend this saws quality, and ease of use, I'm achieving a professional quality tile job using it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for small diy jobs (video included). Let me start by saying that if you are a professional tile installer, this is not for you, but if you a diy'er that has smaller jobs around the house, this will work great for you. This saw is extremely light and easy to move around from place to place. It comes with everything you need to.start working, and only took about ten minutes to set everything up. As far as operation, it's simple, as all uou do is add about two cups of water and start cutting. The motor is 3/4 horsepower, but it does a good job cutting through standard tile, and will leave a smooth line each time. It also comes with a miter guage and a rip fence. I will say that the rip fence is a bit hare to line up as there is to much play, but one you get it where you want it, it will stay in place. If you have the fence off tilt just a bit, it may stall out the blade as it will wedge in you cut. I also like that it has anot extended pull out top for larger tile. All in all, I am satisfied as I got the job done, and did not need to spend $500 on a saw. I recommend P.so. this is also extremely easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good saw for the money! Tiling my kitchen backsplash was my first home improvement project and I definitely couldn't have done it without this wet saw. I will say that the water spurted more than I liked and I thought that maybe a more expensive saw would have yielded less mess but at any rate, I got the job done AND I was able to set it up in the house. I just laid plastic down on the table and set the saw on top of it. I was able to cut glass AND stone with this saw although after day 1, i bent the blade (newbie mistake). Back to home depot I went to buy a new $27 blade. :( Overall, I was pleased with the product- it was fairly easy to assemble and very easy to operate even for a first time DIY'er
