Questions & Answers

Will this blade work with the Qep 3/4 HP, 4.8 Amp motor wet tile saw to cut granite?

I want to cut 2" thick granite (staight cuts only) and the length is 16" for my bathroom vanity backsplash. I already have the Qep 3/4 HP, 4.8 Amp motor wet tile saw. Is this enough horse power to cut the granite and can this blade cut the 2" thick granite?
Asked by: Cindy
If the saw takes a 7 in blade it will cut granite. Just feed the granite slow and make sure your water level is at the correct level.

Can this blade be used for dry cutting ceramic tile?

Asked by: Notapro
I wouldn’t recommend it. A segmented blade is designed to displace heat but without water to cool it, you run the risk of warping the blade.

Will this blade cut 1/2 inch marble mosaic tiles?

Will this blade cut 1/2 inch marble mosaic tiles?
Asked by: Newbee
I used it to cut porcelain tile and Travertine marble tiles, and it cut great. Some of the Travertine was 2" tiles with a scrim on the back. I had a bridge saw and took it slow, making sure to hold the tile in place so it didn't move as I cut. Probably a better way to deal with a tiny tile like 1/2" is to not cut with a tile saw, but to cut the scrim as close as you can to your dimensions and space the sheets as much as possible to adjust for any gaps. Depending on your application, this may or may not work for you.

can i cut glass tile with this blade?

i have mosaic tile consisting of glass, ceramic and granite/stone. will this blade work?
Asked by: gogo
Yes, we used it on our glass mosaic tile. As long as you feed the glass through the blade 'face down' any chips will be on the backside of the mosaic and hidden from view.
