Q:Will this remove thinset from between marble tile with 1/16" grout lines? The tile installer left the thinset between the tiles and the grout didn't bond.

Answer This Question
A:Â Use 1 blade for thinner grout lines and 2 blades for wider grout lines. A single blade clears approximately 1/16 in. W grout joints. Use more than 1-blade at a time for wider grout lines. Mount up to 5 blades for grout joints up to 1/2 in. W.

A:Â The abrasive blade is very good but thick. Not good for thin grout lines. For thin grout lines, Xacto makes a thick SAW blade that worked well for me.

A:Â Thank you for your inquiry. Yes and you may want to consider Model # 75011Q replacement/add-on blades. Each blade removes approximately 1/16 in. width of the grout joint. Simply attach 1 to 5 additional blades to the adapter plate, depending on the width of the grout joint. The Grout Grabber fits also any reciprocating saw. The motion of the saw does the work that you would manually have to do with the hand tool on large jobs.

The blade dulled to smooth really fast, I went through 2 blades in the same length of time it took to dull down a single blade from a different manufacturer, and that blade would still cut. Very dissapointed. Bought 2 extra blades and didn't even open them, just went and bought a different saw. In the short window of time that it did cut it worked really well but within half an hour or so was smooth to the touch on the cutting surface.

Just bought this to remove grout from my kitchen floor. At first the grout came up pretty good. Yes, you will get a workout using this product. But after 3 lines of grout my blade is worn down I can't use it anymore. You'll get 40 feet of grout to clean out before your blade is done. Maybe for a small project this would be OK. But for my 240 square foot kitchen, it's not good. I'm going spend $10 on this tool and will need 9 replacement blades at $4.27 each to finish my floor.
I replaced the original blade and had a little issue getting off the blade. It's definitely on there very tight. Be careful not to strip the bolt. I almost did and it makes it tougher to get off and replace. I tried the replacement blade and that one may be worse than the original blade. After one line (13 feet), the blade is wearing down quickly. Not sure if it's worth continuing with this product. If I could return this I would.

This tool has a nice build and you can remove one of the blades for narrower grout lines. I actually had to return this as it was too big for my needs and went with model 10012Q. If it fits your needs I would recommend it.

I am not sure of the best way to use this, it did remove the grout. But not smoothly I had to exertt an up and down hatchet motion to scrap off the bath tub grout edge. It’s very hard and was like a Saw blade. It did a decent job.

Forgot to mention during earlier review. Those who had problem with blade removal, probably made honest mistake of attempting to remove screws clockwise. They are to be removed by turning counter clockwise! Fairly easy with power screw driver.
