      A:  Push the center button in either direction to extend the desired scoring knife side out. Score the backerboard by pulling the knife toward you following the straight edge or marked line. Then break the board at the scored line. We hope this helps!

        Worked well
        We purchased this to install Lowe's Smartcore vinyl snap lock style flooring in our kitchen. We saw this demonstrated on a Youtube video. It took several passes to cut the vinyl as it is thicker than regular vinyl flooring but worked well. It only works with straight cuts so other cuts required jig saw. Ironically Lowe's does not carry this product. It was a good purchase and saved a lot of time. Home Depot did not carry it in the store so we purchased online with ship to store.

          Much better than using a utility knife
          This works a lot better than using a utility knife. Just plan on buying more cement board than you originally estimated because your gonna break several pieces before you get it right. Especially when you are wanting to cut a few inches along the length of the board. Fortunately had a skill saw fitted with a diamond blade for those kinds of cuts.
