      Answer This Question

A:  Happy to help, Randy! Quick Color General Purpose Spray Paint can be used on most metal surfaces. We do not recommend it for use on galvanized metal or zinc surfaces, as the oil-based paint will not properly adhere to this metal.

        Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for reaching out. Quick Color General Purpose Spray Paint can be applied to metal and wood, it dries to a hard film. Quick Color cannot be applied to fabric (t-shirt), the film would crack.

          For MACCRAGE !
I used the paint to prime my warhammer 40k miniatures and it laid down smooth and clean just as their 22$ brand. I’m very impressed. Would get more, in fact I’m going there now to get more.

            quick color
quick color has got to be the absolute worst spray paint I have ever used. I painted 2 chairs with 2 cans of spray and made such a minimal difference. by the change made this far I am guessing 4 more cans per chair. terrible terrible stuff. NEVER again

This paint spray is only good if what you are looking for is a faded worn out look. Very little pigment on the color. Took me several coats and most of the can to get this look on a 24x48 trellis.

Textured Surface, not a smooth gloss surface.
After a light sanding, did the first light coat. Hour later added the second coat. Paint right off started to form a crinkled surface. Thought maybe I didn't prep it right. Sanded and laid down another top coat. Same results, crinkle surface, not adhering to the surface. Surface was sanded smooth, cleaned and dry. Can was shakened, live in Southern California, no humidity, great day to paint. Waste of time using this product. Save your self the time and try something else.

Hi Drew, this is a solvent reaction known as wrinkling, and can be caused by recoating outside the recoat time of within 1 hour, or after 24 hours. Sanding just prior to applying the next coat will also cause wrinkling to occur, and we recommend waiting 24 hours after sanding the surface to prevent a reoccurrence. To prevent wrinkling, either apply multiple coats 10-15 minutes apart (within 1 hour of one another), or wait 24 hours between coats. Rustoleum

Looking for lousy worthless spray paint?
The good...only costs a buck. The bad news...everything else. Terrible coverage it's like there is zero pigment in it. Ignore the manufacturer's comments/responses, which state to all the negative reviews that individuals are not applying it right, failing to prepare the surface or not shaking the can before applying. The bottom line is this stuff is junk. Pictured is a leg support for a stereo rack I'm building. Nice uneven finish after five coats. If you are prepared to apply 14,500 coats in a time frame spanning a zillion years then this is the paint for you. If your time and effort is valuable then look for a different brand. Rust-Oleum...don't chide or suggest to me I did something wrong. Been painting models since age 7 and professionally for 40 years thereafter. There is a reason there are so many negative reviews and that is because this is an inferior product.

We appreciate your feedback about the coverage with Quick Color Spray Paint. If running into coverage issues, you may consider Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paints instead.

I bought a case in preparation for Halloween. I use Quick Color 10 oz. Gloss Black to create tombstones for the yar. It actually gives the tombstones an aged look after the paint dries.

Quick Color Spray Enamel in Gloss White
I purchased this paint today, with the intentions of painting a pressure treated fence board for a home improvement project. While the paint did spray well, and the odor was lower than I was used to; the color pigments were very thin and watery. I had to use the entire can to cover the small amount of board I had cut to use. I was disappointed in this brand of paint and the incredibly thin color coverage it afforded. I will not be purchasing this brand again. Home Depot should re-evaluate the brand and try it for themselves to better judge if the should sell/carry this brand.

That was not the intention! Please keep in mind that the condition or type of surface can affect the coverage rate of the Quick Color Spray. Previously painted surfaces, the number of coats, and the thickness of the coats can affect the coverage as well. To maximize coverage, hold the can upright 10 to 16 inches from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Make sure to keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart to avoid drips and runs. Rustoleum

Hmm, that is odd, Ed. Keep in mind that it's important to sand the surface thoroughly so the Quick Color Spray can adhere and dry properly. If the surface was made of rubber, this product will not be able to adhere to that material. Rustoleum
