Q:What's the diameter of the core? Wanted to make sure it is able to fit in the gaps between coils.

              Answer This Question

A:  Less than 1/4 inch. Good thing is it's bendable, so you can fashion the shape to curve it behind first row of coils and get second row.

A:  Core is 3/16, but bristles are fairly stiff, I would be afraid of bending something by trying to push the 6 in. tip between anything less than 5/8 and 1 in. on the rest of it. (Tip is approx. 1 in. dia. and the rest 1 1/2.

A:  The core is just heavy wire holding the bristles. It should fit easily between the coils and under the fridge as well.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  3/8 inches just to be "safe"

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  The core is twisted wire and just under 1/4 inch diameter approximately. The way my fridge coils are this doesn't get to the back coils real well but it's better than not having it. And I use it for other cleaning jobs at times.

Q:Can this brush be used to clean a cool traditional radiatoro?

                      Answer This Question

A:  I'm not sure what you mean by a cool traditional radiator. But it is a versatile brush for many applications. I've used it for cleaning out my car radiator. It is nothing more than plastic bristles that are bound by a spiral wire. I don't see why it couldn't be of some use for any type of radiator.

A:  I do not see why not. The bristles are flexible and not stiff. I found the brush easy to clean afterwards.

A:  Definitely can be used to clean old steam heating radiators. When the brush gets filthy and unsightly you then wash them out with soap and hot water thereby extending their life further. Prior to throwing them out I will then use them for a "last time" clenaing out automobile radiators and ac condensers

A:  Thank you for your question. This brush should work fine on your radiator. Please be sure to test a small area before using the brush on the entire object.-Quickie

A:  Since the bristles are flexible and on the soft side, I think you definitely could. It is easy to clean afterwards too.

A:  Thank you for your question regarding the Homepro Refrigerator Brush. This brush was designed specifically for refrigerators. We suggest you consult your air conditioner manual for cleaning recommendations or contact the manufacturer.

A:  Only if you can get to it. This brush would not fit through the narrow grid of metal wires that connected the cooling coils of a refrigerator, which on my unit were about 3/16" apart or less.

Bending required for curved refrigerator coils
My older refrigerators had coils on the back or bottom of the refrigerator. This brush comes straight and would do a good job of getting to those coils. However, my current GE refrigerator has its coils in a cylinder on the back. An access panel has to be removed to get to the coils. A vacuum cleaner does a good job of cleaning the coils facing you, but can't get to the back of the coils (there's not much clearance). Fortunately this brush can be bent into a curved shape, and is stiff enough to hold that shape while getting to the back of the coil. I would hardly call this ideal or easy, but it did work, and so far my internet searches have not turned up any better tool design for cleaning the back of coils like this. I did find the rubber handle on this brush to be more comfortable than the wood handle I've had on some past brushes. I will mention that my coils very definitely needed cleaning, so if you have ignored your coils for a while, it would be a good idea to check them out.

Excellent find! Did what I purchased it for.
great purchase. Did what i needed...cleaned all the coils, nooks & crannies under our refrigerator that were unreachable with vacuum crevice tools or other appliance cleaning brushes. very sturdy handle with strong bristles entwined on sturdy wire. Not flimsy like last brush.

                                Perfect Tool for the Job
This is a well-made brush tool. Its flexible and has the metal tip covered with a rubbery material so that there are no sharp edges to damage your coils with. Its thin enough to fit in all the tight places that needed cleaning under my frig. Highly recommend.

My less-than-one-year-old refrigerator freezer had iced up recently. (This is my first refrigerator with a bottom drawer.) In my online search, I found that dust in and around the coil can cause that. Many suggested using one of these brushes. It worked great at pulling out dust that I would never have been able to get to. What an awesome tool! And you can’t beat the price. :-)
