Product Overview

QuietCool Attic Fans work almost everywhere, almost anytime. During the summer, an attic can be 40° to 50° hotter than the outside temperature, which in turn heats up the house very quickly. with an attic fan, you can cool the attic to the same temperature as it is outside, greatly reducing the house from heating as quickly. with the New QuietCool Smart Attic Fan, gone are the-days of having to get into your attic to adjust the thermostat for your attic fan. with the innovative Smart Attic Fan Control, you can now adjust all parameters for your attic fan from your phone. The control also has a Smart Mode that will automatically change speeds based on the conditions in your attic. The QuietCool attic fan is able to keep the attic cooler since it ramps up the speed of the motor in accordance with the temperature in the attic rather than a standard single speed attic fan that would come on at a higher temperature.

Easy setup and easy to install
Ordered it online at night. Next morning I picked this up with customer service. Very easy, in and out. I climbed up in the attic with everything I needed. It really felt like it took me less than 5 min to install everything. I did have to climb back up as I didn't press the pair button to connect this fan to my tablet. Once paired via "bluetooth" I was able to see the temperature in the attic and humidity. There are two ways to use this fan. One is a timer based on hours (1,2,3,etc) and second is an automatic on and off based on temperature and humidity settings. This will take time to understand the temperature in the attic to set this up. Others have wondered if they can set this up based on specific times. But I think the temperature settings works great. However, you can always use a smart plug for specific times for on and off. I thought about this but the temperature setting will work just fine. When I was in the attic, I was able to get the fan to turn on high. I checked other vents I have in the attic and it was sucking in cooler air from the outside and taking out hot air to outside through a different vent. There are two speed settings. Low one seemed too low to be honest. But it did work well and it was very quiet. The higher setting has much more power and it worked great. Although the sound is louder on high speed setting, but from downstairs I did not hear the fan inside the house. It will take a few days to monitor temperature at different hours throughout the day and night to have a good set up. If you prefer time setup throughout the day, I suggest you add a smartplug like Wyze which is very inexpensive and works great.

My attic gets pretty hot during the summer so I finally decided to pick up a gable fan. I'm an automation nerd so when I saw this model with the app control I had to get it. Bluetooth connectivity seems to work fine and the app is intuitive enough. Fan runs nice and quiet and moves a good amount of air. I am hoping that I can figure out a way to tie it in with the rest of my automation system so I don't have to rely on the app so much.

When they say QuietCool Smart Attic Fan that about sums it up. It is noticeably quiet; it will keep your attic cooler and it is smart enough to let you know what it is doing and allow you to make changes to it as well. I did the opposite of what most men do (including me ), I read the directions first. And I saw that they had a video on how to install the fan, so I tried the link which unfortunately was broken. So, I contacted their tech support via chat and immediately the tech was able to give me the correct web page to view the video. I quickly found out that they have fast and great tech support for your tech support needs. Then it was off to mount the fan, I decided to go with mounting it on plywood first to give it a good backing and making it easier and quicker to mount once I am able to do so. I am waiting on my electrician to put in the power box in the attic as I do not mess with electricity, that is why I am glad it came with a plug instead of requiring wiring to be done also. So, in the meantime I was able to mount it on the plywood and I used the added vent covers to add to the enclosure. While I really appreciate that it is prewired and has a super long 20-foot cord, my recommendations is to have a way to mount the control box without having to open it to do so. I was able to open it and mount it on the board, but I was worried that I might dislodge or disconnect the wires inside it, but luckily, I did not. Once I had it mounted I wanted to test it out somewhere that I could easily access it, so I decided to mount it inside my shed, to remove the hot air from there out a window in the shed. I mounted it and then proceeded to install the app on my phone to connect to it. Simple and straight forward and in no time, I was controlling it from my phone. It took me a few times of reading and re-reading the directions on how to set up the humidity and fan settings, but that was just me. To start off with I tried just the test settings to get it to go low and high, and then I used the Smart Mode on the app. I liked that I was able to see what the temp, humidity and status of the fan was from my phone via the app. Afterwards I was able to set up my own settings (temperature to start, go high or low depending on temperature etc.) and got it running great. It is whisper quiet on low, you barely know it is running, but on high as you might expect you can hear it, it is not super loud, but you do hear it running. I was lucky as normally since we are in Florida it is hot, but it just so happened that I got a cool day to do this and the fan shut off since it was cool enough, and back on the next day when it warmed back up again. This would be good to know that it will not be running all the time (not that we have that many cool days here). But even when it will be running it will not be using that much energy as it uses only 70 watts on low and 108 on high. And hopefully it will help ease the load on our AC unit which in turn will save me money long term as well, and keep my attic cooler.

In a word = PERFECT! Testing out of the box, I set the unit on the floor and set the fan to “Hi”. It was very accurately balanced with close to zero movement of the fan. I know from this it is not going to vibrate when mounted. I tested power consumption on high at 43% surrounding humidity level. The fan consumed 12 hundredths of a kilowatt in 60 minutes. This equate to 2.88 in a 24 hour period. If your KWH rate for your area is 15 cents, this would be 43.2 cent to operate on high in a 24 hour period. A higher humidity level will make the fan work slightly harder. Your individual environment will affect the numbers slightly. Mounting the fan and control box is a cinch and well designed. One screw gives you access to the inside of the control box, and there are four small holes for mounting. The inside of the control box has only high-quality wiring – much more adequate than necessary. They cut zero corners period – anywhere. Overall, this is a perfect 5 star, and it does comer with a full 15 year warranty and built in the U.S.A. Even the label on the enclosure for the fan is perfectly positioned. It shows they have pride in manufacturing.

This fan is powerful, AWESOME!!!  I only wish I would have discovered it sooner.  My house sits in the path of intense sun, and it gets MAJOR HOT, especially on the second floor on hot, sunny summer days; the attic is worse, like an OVEN/sauna in the summer, STIFLING; my back beads up with perspiration if I am in the attic for only a minute or two.  This is a powerful fan to ventilate the attic.  I never even knew about these until my aunt got one, and it made a HUGE DIFFERENCE IN COOLING HER HOME, a single family ranch (1 floor); it was amazing; I was amazed.  I have read about all its great features, and again, I kick myself for not getting one sooner...   1) This fan cools/ventilates a stifling HOT attic, ventilates up to 3,000 sq ft, and is expected to move as much as 25% more air than other attic fans.     2) Easy to install; there is also an online, instructional video that shows you how to install it (takes minutes).    3) It is made of metal, built strong/solid, so you don't have to worry about plastic melting.   4) Mounting tabs are built into its frame; they include anti-vibration pads. 5) The unit plugs in instead of being hard wired.  I like this very much as it offers you the option to move it, should you ever wish/need to, plus.  I can also take it WITH ME if I move.  You also won't need to hire an electrician to hard wire it. 6) It's (powerful)  PSC (Permanent Split Capacitor Motor) motor has two speeds, and it is energy efficient, runs at 70 watts on low.  Expected energy savings is up to 30% off AC related energy costs.  WOW!   I LIKE products that save me money! 7) Operates any time of day, including during the night, unlike solar fans.  I WANT it operating at night to cool the house so that I can SLEEP!    8) Smart Attic Fan Control.  The app allows you control from anywhere in your home.     9) Maintenance free; I welcome that!  I also like that it is sheltered in the attic, not exposed to the elements, whereas when I have a fan in the window it is subject to rain/water damage. 10) Expected to extend the life of your roof by preventing excessive heat, humidity, moisture, mold.  Double WOW!!!  A new roof is VERY COSTLY, while the cost of this fan is nominal in comparison... 11) 15 year warranty!  WOW!!!  I expect mine to operate non-stop in the summer.  If it can take 15 or more years of that abuse, that is PRETTY AMAZING!   12) The price is reasonable...  For people like me, with an attic that bakes in intense sun all day, heating up the rest of the house, I expect this unit to easily recover the selling price in one summer.  Again, I am angry with myself for not getting one sooner. I am THRILLED with this unit...  I also think this fan is really smart to have; it makes sense to get that INTENSE HEAT OUTTA the attic, outta my house, send it outside so that my home and my family need not bake in the heat.   WHAT A DISCOVERY!!!  No regrets!!!  I love, love, love it!!!  I think that I made a GREAT CHOICE!!! I have included close up pictures of it so that you can see what I am talking about, see what you are getting. I also urge you to check out the instructional video which shows how super easy it is to install! No regrets!!! Again, I consider this fan a great choice!!!

High quality fan. And installation is straight forward. The fan/motor is really quiet. Motor has a rubber isolation band under clamp and fan mounting tabs can use supplied rubber/foam pads as well. The instructions to set up the Bluetooth control and other features is easy to understand and quick to get set up and running. The cord length is just over 19’ from the control box which has about another 12” of length. 3 prong plug on cord. However it can also be hardwired as well. I did opt to remove my fan and replace the static gable vents with an automatic vent with louvers that close when fan is off.

Surprised by how quit this fan is while moving so much air. This is installed in my shop which is 1200 S.F. so the ridge is at 15 feet which make the Bluetooth control ideal for me as it sits 12 ft or so off the floor. Down loaded the program and it works perfectly although have not had the weather to test the humidistat. I down't have any structural steel near the top of the gable end so was concerned with just screwing into the aluminum paneling but no vibration and absolutely smooth running. A wire screen on the outside sandwiched between the fan and panels keep the birds out.

I really wanted to like this fan, but I soon found several problems. Installation is supposedly made easier with the use of QR codes in the manual to link to a video to help with installation. Sadly these link to old pages on the manufactures website, and were of no use. The iOS app claims you can connect multiple phones to the fan, in fact only one phone at a time is supported. Adding a new phone kicks the old phone from the device. Annoying. The 'smart' features are very basic - in 'smart' mode you have to manually switch between profiles (each profile contains a set point for low and high speeds) so every summer or winter you will launch the app and change the smart mode profile to "summer" or "winter". You can add more profiles, but all of them require using the app to switch between them. There is a timer mode to run the fan for a user defined period of time. I couldn't think of a use for this. The iOS app had some annoying problems that theoretically could be fixed in a future update. I had to manually enter the serial number and model number in to the app, it wasn't smart enough to get that itself from the fan. Opening the app I'd occasionally be prompted that "you must update the hub" and taken to an update page that told me "no update is available". The overall feel go the app is awkward, almost like the developer used a "learn to write apps" template. My included video goes in to a much more detailed review.
