$ 576 94

Overview

The QuietCool brand of whole house fans has taken America by storm. The QC CL-2250 advanced whole house fan is a new take on the idea of whole house ventilation. Whole house ventilation allows you to bring the cooler outdoor air through your windows, home and attic space to thoroughly cool and ventilate both the home and attic. The process of thoroughly cooling the home and attic is called thermal mass cooling. This is what allows your home to stay cooler the next day and resist heating up as much as it would if you only ran the AC to cool the home. QuietCool uses a unique, patented design that uses an acoustical duct attached to an R5 damper box. The result is almost zero noise vibration and whisper quiet operation. With the QuietCool QC CL-2250 installed in your master bedroom, gone are the days of tossing and turning all night long due to the heat. Simply open a window, flip on the QuietCool and enjoy a peaceful and cool night of sleep. Better yet, QuietCool is proudly designed with a 98% customer satisfaction.

Questions & Answers

Dampers. Are the dampers operated by the fan suction (open) and closed by gravity? Do they work well long term without cleaning? Good seal?

I’m considering the CL 2250. No info from CC regarding their damper doors and how they operate versus powered doors.
Asked by: Rich
Yes, they open by suction and close by gravity. Unless the air in your home is extremely dirty, they shouldn't need cleaning. They do seal well.

Can someone help me with what size fan I need? I have a two storey house with the main level having around 2200 sq ft and upstairs having around 1700 sq ft. We will only be opening the windows on the main floor and probably only in a couple of rooms so I am thinking that we don't need to buy a large one that will accomadate 4000 sq ft. We are only interested in cooling the bedroom and living room. Thanks!

can this be installed in an attic with blown in insulation?

We want to install a whole house fan and need to know if you can install these in an attic with blown in insulation?
Asked by: housewife
Yes you just have to angle the fan unit slightly above horizontal to prevent blowing the insulation around.

What are the dampers for ?

Asked by: Pete
Hi Pete, the damper doors are gravity dampers which are pulled open when the fan is on and fall closed when the fan is off. They have an R-5 value insulation to keep heat from entering the home from the attic when the fan is off in the summer and prevents heat from escaping your home into the attic in the winter. If you live somewhere that gets into the 30's or bellow during in the winter, I suggest getting the Winterized Insert Kit that correlates with the model fan you have or are getting. This insert provides an additional R-40 value which can easily be popped up behind the removable grill during that extra cold time of the year, providing additional insulation between your living area and attic. If you have any further questions feel free to call 951-325-6340 and myself or someone from my team will be happy to assist you.
