Product Overview

  • Brings outdoor air through your windows to ventilate your home
  • Thermal mass cooling keeps your home cool and resists heating up
  • Provides zero-noise vibration and whisper-quiet operation
The QuietCool brand of whole house fans has taken America by storm. The QC ES-1500 advanced whole house fan is a new take on the idea of whole house ventilation. Whole house ventilation allows you to bring the cooler outdoor air through your windows, home and attic space to thoroughly cool and ventilate both the home and attic. The process of thoroughly cooling the home and attic is called thermal mass cooling. This is what allows your home to stay cooler the next day and resist heating up as much as it would if you only ran the AC to cool the home. QuietCool uses a unique, patented design that uses an acoustical duct attached to an R5 damper box. The result is almost zero noise vibration and whisper quiet operation. As well, the QC ES-1500 uses the innovative ECM energy saver motor that uses hardly any power while moving extreme amounts of air. With the QuietCool QC ES-1500 installed in your bedroom, gone are the days of tossing and turning all night long due to the heat. Simply open a window, flip on the QuietCool and enjoy a peaceful and cool night of sleep. Better yet, QuietCool is proudly designed with a 98% customer satisfaction.
  • QuietCool advanced whole house fans use and improve upon the principle of ventilation cooling with savings of up to 50-90% off traditional cooling methods such as A/C
  • 1.92 sq. ft. of net free attic venting required for proper ventilation
  • Cools and ventilates rooms up to 725 sq. ft. for optimum performance
  • Fan motor head hangs from the rafters in the attic with a small ceiling cut-out for the air intake grille (14 in. x 14 in. ceiling cut-out)
  • Moves air at a rate of 1434 CFM
  • 64.5-Watt ECM motor ensures extremely energy efficient operation and superior airflow
  • QuietCool 8-hour countdown timer sold separately
  • Installation is simple with a typical 1 to 2-hour install time with no framing or joist-cutting required (fits 16 or 24 on-center)
  • R5 damper box at the ceiling level helps insulate the home from the attic during the cold times of the year when the fan is off
  • HVI-916 airflow rate for California: 1010 CFM

Yes... simple as an on/off switch... could add in a timer or thermostatic switch.

What is the difference in costs and cooling effectiveness between a mini split system or VRF-variable refrigeant flow and the whole house fan?

I am looking to cool more efficiently and effectively my two story home with 2100 sq ft. especially upstairs and one consultant told me to look into the mini split system or the VRF system? What costs more? Does home depot have installers who can do this?
Asked by: Downey
Whole house fan will be more cost efffective... but you must have cool nights for this system to work... and it will not lower humidity the way the other systems will. Need dry hot summers with cool nights. Also dependent upon how quickly your house acquires heat during the day (unshaded windows, etc) and insulation levels.

Does this include the vertical adapter for wall mounting>
Asked by: Don
Hi Don, vertical adapters are an accessory item you would have to purchase separately if you were to install the fan vertically. For example, if you were installing the ES-1500 vertically, you would need to purchase the VA-1414. The damper box is 14x14 inches for this model fan so you would need the VA-1414.

can the go into attic
Asked by: barbara
From the bottom of the intake against the ceiling, I would suggest you need about 36” of clearance above that to make the required gentle 90 degree bend in the flexible duct
