Product Overview

  • Floor heating for laminate, engineered hardwood & floating floors
  • Easy to install radiant floor heating mats - cut to length
  • Keep feet warm w/ cost effective electric floor heating system
A gentle electric radiant heat system designed specifically for dry installation under floating wood and laminate floors. A low profile, line voltage system, it features gradual warmth from low wattage resistance heating of ultra-thin, flexible radiant heat film. Installed easily over a subfloor or over an acoustic/insulating underlayment as part of the overall floor assembly, it uses just 12-Watt per square foot to gently raise the temperature of the floor, conforming to the warranty requirements of many floating floors. The system, which sports an impressive 99% efficiency, includes temperature limiting properties so the film does not overheat. Its available in four convenient rollout mat sizes that will accommodate most any layout. Each mat has wires pre-attached for ease of installation.
  • Use with most floating laminate, engineered wood and floating tile floors
  • Uses an highly-efficient conductive ink technology
  • Disperses an evenly consistent heat throughout the entire floor
  • Will not add extra height to the floor, only 0.016 in. thick
  • Consumes up to 50% less power than traditional wired systems
  • Easy to install: roll out, cut length to fit if needed and run pre-attached wires to a wall thermostat
  • No mortar and no mess
  • Conforms to many floating floor manufacturers requirements
  • Maintenance free, crafted to not completely shut down if the system should ever become compromised or damaged
  • When trimming the length, the portion of the mat that is cut off cannot be used
  • Adjust temperature with quiet warmth thermostat (sold separately)

can you cut it in half to fit your floor size?

can you cut it in half to fit your floor size?
Asked by: Nik
Hi, you can cut these mats through the center of any of the black stripes to shorten the mat but you can not cut perpendicularly to the stripes to make the mat narrower.

I see nothing about the electrical wiring or connections provided to integrate in my home. Whet is there a simple plug?

above should be enough . the though.
Asked by: Josh1955
Not Quite. In fact no! Check the mfrs. instructions - the system runs off a dedicated 20 amp circuit through a programmable thermostat. It is hard wired into your home's electrical service panel and controlled by the thermostat.

I was initially concerned because the laminate I planned to use over it was very thin and the sub-floor was very even and I was thinking it will make installation hard. Very thin, yet encased in a sturdy enough foil to withstand the microscopic movements of the floor that could potentially damage the whole thing. It was really easy to install, I but radiant barrier below it, because I needed to redirect more of the heat upwards. It doesn't heat the room 210 sq.ft to a point of being toasty, but on its own it warms it just enough to be comfortable during 35F outside. And the best thing about it is that comfy feeling of a warm floor that nothing else can give you. 167 Watts cost at my NE part of the US about $18.50 per month 24/7. Considering the alternative way of heating this room with forced air, this is about 45% cheaper. It's simply the efficiency of a radiant heat is much much higher compared to alternatives. Totally recommend, this is the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxury Underfoot I have used under floor heating from other companies, but this is the thinnest product i have ever seen and that is a great advantage. You literally roll this underlayment out over any padding you're using and install the floor. Period, no fuss, no muss. A few things to remember: 1. This is for laminate and floating floor systems only; not for under tile (although I'm not sure why not...) 2. Put it where you will be walking and not under cabinets, other furniture or heavy carpeting because the heat will just be trapped and not appreciated. 3. Don't expect the floor to be hot, it is a gentle warmth; probably not good to heat the room unless it's super insulated. 4. You can add extra sections to cover a larger area; just plan carefully so the wires and thermostat are lined up and easy to install. 5. If putting over concrete floor I would recommend an insulation pad under the heating element so the concrete doesn't suck up all the heat. 6. Don't put this under a nailed in flooring; seems obvious because nails would short out the element.

Say goodbye to cold feet...............Recently we unfortunately had a fire in my home,, Due to water damage we had to replace a lot of flooring,, I put these heaters in every room that I was able to, I had them before and they are great, While they do not raise the temperature of the room, your feet will always be comfortable,I have all of mine on timers and when I get out of bed in the morning I step on a heated floor that makes you warm all the way thru your body, I wish they would invent these to fit in your shoes and ran on batteries,, They are also very cost efficient..I'm paying about 12 cents per kwh (kilowatt hour) so at 180 watts it costs about .02 cents a day to run for 8 hours,, you certainly cant ask for cheaper than that,,and for me that's really cheap for the price of a creature comfort...as well as being easy to install before you put down your floating floor, It must be wired to their thermostat which Home Depot sells Model # THERMST Internet #100641167 Store SKU #768671 Store SO SKU #238472 All very easy for a beginner or DIYer BASED ON AN 8 HOUR DAY Cost per Hour .00022 Cost per day 0.0173 Cost per month 0.53 cost per year 6.81 KwH per day 1.44

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Office Footwarmer My home office is in an annexed sunroom. It is very cold in the winter. I am going to use this underneath a thin sheet of plywood - like a chair mat. It should provide supplemental warmth. The temperature profile from floor radiant heat is warmer nearer to the floor. This is different from forced air heat where the heat goes straight up. More people would be able to use this hack than those who would use the film in a new construction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toasty bathroom floor This is basically the same review I wrote for the 3' X 10" radiant heat film that I used under our laminate in the bath/shower area of our bathroom. I used this 1.5 ft. X 10 ft. in front of the double vanity and doorway in the same bathroom. The floor heaters do a great job of warming (not heating) the floor. They tqke the chill out of the laminate that is installed over a concrete slab. They do not warm the bathroom, only the flooring. I have a HVL to actually heat the bathroom. Installing the actual mats is very simple. They're very simple to lay out under the laminate flooring. Installing and wiring the thermostat is more time consuming than the mats. The mats must be connected to a special thermostat designed for them. Once connected, the flooring temperature can be selected. I'm happy with the installation. A little luxury in the master bath is nice. I was a little stressed about the longevity of the mats until my wife reminded me that, if they fail, we'll still have what we had before--unheated floors--nothing less, nothing more!

It does lay down well and is very thin. I place the laminate flooring directly on top of the film. It should be good in the winter but it is something that will just have to be left on. It took about 45 minutes before we started to feel the difference in the temperature of the floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Thin and could cut it to fit! Had to join two completely floors together in a threshold. We were able to join the two almost perfectly without raising the new floor overall height and gaining warm floors to boot! Bonus feature was we had to cut 4 inches off of the heated mat to make it fit, works great.
