Product Details

A gentle electric radiant heat system designed specifically for dry installation under floating wood and laminate floors. A low profile, line voltage system, it features gradual warmth from low wattage resistance heating of ultra-thin, flexible radiant heat film. Installed easily over a subfloor or over an acoustic/insulating underlayment as part of the overall floor assembly, it uses just 12-Watt per square foot to gently raise the temperature of the floor, conforming to the warranty requirements of many floating floors. The system, which sports an impressive 99% efficiency, includes temperature limiting properties so the film does not overheat. Its available in four convenient rollout mat sizes that will accommodate most any layout. Each mat has wires pre-attached for ease of installation.

Q:Is it waterproof ?can I use it over bathroom floor with vinyl flooring on top (Not in the shower room ).

A:  Thank you for reaching out. The mats will not be damaged by water. If they get wet, they can simply be dried off and used again. This system is approved for use in a bathroom setting.

    Q:Can this product be used under a quartz countertop? The countertop is 3cm, would this product warm the surface through a product this thick?

      Q:I want this in my basement about 400sq feet, how many mats can you put on one circuit? I was going to get 4 does each one need it?s own circuit or can I split it into just two zones? Obviously I?ll have my electrician do it, but I don?t want 4 thermostats

      A:  Thank you for reaching out Alicia. You can install up to 300 square feet on the 240V system per circuit. You can also use a power module paired with a thermostat. With your square footage, I would recommend 1 thermostat and 1 power module. The power module is a dummy thermostat that gets wired to the actual thermostat and works in junction with the thermostat.         A:  1 dedicated 20 amp circuit from the main electrical box will control 1 thermostat. Each thermostat can control 150sqft of mats on 120V system OR 300sqft of mats on 240V. In your case it might be wise to wire the basement for 240V (and buy the 240V Queitwarmth mats) so you have only two 20 amp circuits on either 2 thermostats or 1 thermostat and a power module.           A:  Thank you for reaching out. We do not recommend the use of area rugs over our heating system. It will most likely not cause any issues, but there is a chance it could discolor the floor covering underneath the area rug.

            3 foot x 25 foot heated flooring
            This review is for the Quiet Warmth 240 Volt floor heating pad. We ordered this online and it arrived on time and was packaged well. There did not appear to be any damage to the box or the heating element. Inside the box was the heating pad with wiring leads and an instruction booklet. For these heating pads to work, you'll need to add a dedicated 240 Volt breaker, and thermostat to control the pads. For my particular situation, I need 4 of these heating mats each trimmed to around 20 feet. The mats are 3 feet wide each with their own wire leads.

            Doesn't heat floor
            Doesn't heat the floor. I followed the instructions(which weren't great) to a T. Used the recommended underlayment, tested all the electrical components, but the floor just doesn't heat. I've currently got it set at 100 degrees F, my floor is 63 degrees. It's been about 9 days since I installed it and turned it on. The unheated floor sections are about 58 degrees. So I know it's heating, it's just not heating much. Not worth the time and effort. I regret buying it.

              Warms Room, But Don't Believe "Pennies Per Day"
              We purchased 4 of these mats, along with the required thermostat, to extend the use of a 3-season porch. Part of the logic was that the cost of heating a room was 'pennies per day'. It is, IF you consider $4 dollars per day 'pennies'. Our electric bill went up over $120 the first full month the mats were online. The heating is prohibitively expensive and we will probably have to replace the brand new floor as well.
