Q:I see that the UDG-4999 has both a floor sensor and a wall/room sensor. I am only interested in warming the floor. I have forced air to warm the room. CAN I TURN OFF THE ROOM SENSOR or JUST USE THE FLOOR SENSOR to control when the floor mat turns on/off?

Q:Is there a version without the built-in GFCI? My local code states that I MUST use a GFCI breaker at the panel. If I have a GFCI breaker at the panel and then another GFCI built-in to your thermostat they will not work. What is my solution?

Wiring it is pretty straight forward. Programing is a little more complicated. Don't know why programming instructions were not included in the package, but thankfully you can find them online. I put this thermostat below our towel warmer timer.

Easy to use heated floor thermostat!
This thermostat is particularly nice because you can program 4 different events per day so it's great to get up in the morning and have the floor already heated. You can also program it at the minimum temperature for vacations, etc... (temperature range is 41 degrees to 104 degrees Fahrenheit but can also be programmed in Celsius.)
It has a modern look and is able to accommodate up to 15 amps of heating matting. You must have a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the thermostat so I would recommend hiring an electrician for the installation. This has an integrated GFCI so a separate one is not needed when installing. Programming this thermostat is very self explanatory when you turn on the panel for the first time. The quick guide included in the box is VERY easy to follow with suggestions for programming your daily schedule.
I used this thermostat with my Quiet Warmth Radiant Heat Film for FLOATING floors. See pictures. This unit is a little pricy but well worth the money for a quality product which has so many programming features!

Nice
Very nice looking thermostat for use with raidiant heat film for floating wood or tile floors. Nice display, good feel,on the control buttons. The thermostat probe wire is a little thick and the underlayment will need to be slotted to fit properly if your using this with the manufactures film mat. Fits into a single box in accordance with floor mat requirements. Max load is 15 amps at 1800 watts. Built in GFCI 4 event timer

A must have for a heated floor
If you have a heated floor this thermostat is a no brainer. Instead of an on/off switch or a timer, this thermostat will give you so much versatility.
The 2 biggest advantages of this are energy efficiency and convenience
The thermostat will keep a more consistent heat as well and prevent wasted energy when you are away
With numerous program options, you're able to set the floor heat to be on when you enter the shower in the morning.
I used this in a basement bathroom application directly over a concrete floor and it really takes the chill out of the floor.

Easy to use, completely adjustable
I picked this up to replace a hard to use unit that came with my guest bathroom’s heated floors. Adjusting the old one when our schedule changed (i.e. family over for Christmas, mother in law visiting etc) was a bear. The new unit is simply faboo and here’s why:
• Easy to use – clear intuitive display with lots of options
• Clear display – Easy to see current temp, set temp, time, if floor is actively heating etc
• Easy install – Installation took less than 10 minutes and it doesn't sit as deep as my last controller so things didn't feel crammed getting it back into the wall.
• Safety features - Built in GFCI (in case water finds electricity) and child lock (toddler proof!)
• Easy Scheduling – Lets you set a weekday/weekend schedule or even a schedule for each day of the week. Perfect for us since the wife stays home 2 days a week to be with our toddler.
• Extra adjustments – I almost gave 2 stars since it was off by 10 degrees from the actual temp. However, you can adjust the temperature readout by up to 18 degrees Fahrenheit (ours was off by 10 degrees from the get go)
Only thing that needs more attention is the instructions. It’s bare bones. Apparently others got a mini-cd to help out, but my box didn’t have one.

Many Settings
This thermostat is easy to install and pair with any underfloor heating system. The extensive instructions and instructional DVD provide an easy walk through for installation. The unit allows for 4 programmable settings to customize the floor's heating throughout the day. Many other thermostats just have an on/off option. The unit has a white cover and a very basic look, but it gets the job done.

Easy to install
This thermostat for underlayment is easy to install. The unit comes with a mini CD which has all the instructions on it, which makes it really easy to follow them.
The unit is called a 7-day thermostat, but it actually is a 5-2-day. Meaning that you can't program it for 7 individual days, but rather for 6 (Saturday and Sunday are the same).
The thermostat looks good and works well.
