Will this work to set bricks to each other? Front steps are brick and we have tried everything but the winter weather has us beat.
Asked by: Nana1945
No, QUIKRETE® Exterior Use Anchoring Cement is not recommended for making repairs to loose or weakened bricks due to the high strength and expansive characteristics of the product. Typically it is preferable for the mortar being used for repairs around bricks to NOT be stronger than the original mortar. If it is stronger, any settling of the structure and/or expansive characateristic of the material will potentially cause the bricks or the existing mortar, rather than the new mortar for making the repairs around the bricks, to crack. QUIKRETE® Mortar Mix Type N (No. 1102) would be recommended to make repairs around bricks. Make sure the surface is clean, sound, uncoated/unsealed, and free of loose debris, dust, and any other potential bond breakers. We always recommend mixing a small quantity of the repair material, and allowing it to cure for at least 24 hours to determine whether the color and overall appearance are acceptable before initiating the full project.

Can I use this to secure metal pool ladder anchors into pavers? Currently, I have polymeric sand holding it together, but it is loosening over time.
Asked by: Dan
Hello Quikrete, I did call technical support and it was recommended to use the anchoring cement given its pullout strength. With that said, in your prior post are you referring to the pavers being more at risk of loosening if anchoring cement is used around the pool ladder anchors? The pavers were professionally installed and not cemented to my knowledge and remain strongly in tact and just wanted to confirm. Thanks

At what temperature can this product be used. Example: if it is 20 degrees outside and the concrete i have core drilled to set a handrail is 20 degrees can i use this product or will if freeze? Does the temperature need to be above freezing?
Asked by: Scooter
Do not use if temperature is expected to go below 32 ºF within a 12 hour period. The ideal placement temperature for QUIKRETE® Exterior Use Anchoring Cement is 70 ºF, but it may be placed at temperatures between 50 to 90 ºF. Below 50 ºF (but above 32 ºF), cold weather precautions must be taken to promote proper curing. These include, but are not limited to, the following: store the raw materials in a warm temperature before use, use warm (not hot) water to mix, and ensure that the placement is protected from freezing for at least 48 hours using plastic sheeting, insulated blankets, or other means. If these preventive measures cannot be taken, it would be best to wait for warmer weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for fixing toilet flange Used this product to fix a loose toilet flange and it worked like a charm. A master plumber at HD recommended a similar product at another store but he didn't realize that they sold a product like this at HD. Just be aware that this stuff dries quite fast so you gotta work quick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product so far, but dries up too fast I used it for a small project where I was piling up some bricks in my garden. I used the cement between one floor and the next. It works pretty good, easy to use. The only issue I found is that when I mix it up with water, I found out that I had to do small amounts and use them right away because a minute later, it would be all dry and unusable. I basically mixed it up, pasted in about 2-3 bricks, put the ones on top and whatever cement was remaining was already solid. I discarded it, mixed more and repeated the process over and over again. Once I got the right amounts I needed to avoid waste, ti worked out pretty good.

I don't see it expand like it says in the description but it will definitely not shrink as it dries. Flows well into narrow gaps if you add water to a gooey consistency. I used it to securely anchor 6 chain link fence corner posts in 3 inch holes I drilled into concrete with absolutely no trouble.

We were installing a post for a clothesline. Read the directions and mixed as directed. Were unprepared for the speed at which it set, it was unusable within a minute. Had a good laugh as the bucket we used to mix it in is now a doorstop. Amazing product, will purchase again if need arises.
