      Answer This Question

We do not recommend using Quick Setting Cement for that application. Please look into Quikrete Sand Topping Mix or Concrete Mix. Also we would need to know the depth they are being made to correctly calculate amount of product needed. For further assistance please call 1-800-282-582

The cement works well. Good for small repairs. Just add water in small amounts. I would definitely buy again.

Great for water repairs under unusual circumstances
I bought this because I have had a couple of leaks in my house’s water system to include the sewer system. It’s an old house so we have cast iron pipes embedded in our basement that go upstairs. Rather than cutting out a bunch or concrete I was able to fix the leaks above the existing concrete. The most difficult situation is where our horizontal outflow to the city kept sending water back into the house basement because there was no existing flow stop installed. My only choice was to mount black 90 degree PVC to cast iron. Ducktape and wire doesn’t work here but the quick setting cement works perfectly to bind the pvc and cast iron pipes. Mind you this is an emergency repair and if you have money fix it accordingly per a pro plumber. But I was a commercial diver so working with different materials and concrete under water is not unusual for me.

Wife fixes patio corner - husbands stands in awe
A piece of patio corner broke off. It was made of cmu with a concrete slab. I didn’t know how much I needed so I bought (2) 10lb buckets. I had (2) 5 gallon buckets on hand (1) for cool water (1) for mixing up the quick set. I also used concrete bonding on the broken patio (that’s what they use in the concrete trade when repairing/patching). I pre-drilled some random holes & threw in some tap-cons (blue screws) added a trellis of tie wire for reinforcement. I mixed up the quick set to a moldable consistency. It slumped as i applied & my husband helped add the mix while I held the trowel. Once enough material was added, I shooed him away & shaped the corner with a concrete trowel/sponge. Great stuff to work

This is the second time I've used this Quikrete product to resurface a concrete stoop. The last coating lasted ywo years through very heavy rains, snow and ice. It finally started to crack again in the places I previously sealed. I've put a fresh coat on and hope it lasts another two years unless I redo the stoop altogether before then. Even if I had to do it once a year it's very easy to work with and really solid once it's dry. Great stuff for the price!

                Great repair product!
I used this to spruce up my old driveway. It is workable similar to clay, so it saved me from having to use wood forms. I used a trowel and edging tool to shape it, and a sponge to blend it with the existing concrete. For the larger repairs I reinforced it with Tapcon screws. Only mix what you can use in 10 minutes and clean the bucket immediately. It says it gets to 3000psi in one day, but I avoided driving on it for a few days and so far so good.

A stone on our patio cracked up & came loose so I chipped out the old grout down to the slab. We could find no one to replace it, so I used Quikcrete Quick Setting Concrete Mix to fill the space and make it look like stone with grout lines. It was easy to mix (I mixed it in a gallon plastic storage bag) and sculpt since it is fairly stiff and dries quickly. I used a board to form the right side where it met the original rubberized caulk, but simply smoothed the top to meet the other sides using a wide trowel. I then sculpted the "grout lines" by pressing and drawing them in with the tip of a potato peeler. I stained the top surface by rubbing in a little dry Oklahoma red clay dust while the concrete was still wet and then sculpted in a few shallow scrapes and divots to match the surrounding stone surface. Our lawn man thought it looked "professional."
