I use this for mulch on top of potted plants to retain moisture and keep the squirrels from digging in them. It works great and even looks nice.

I used this to put at the bottom of the concrete post for drainage. After 3 years nothing is sinking so I suppose it works. Cheaper than having to realign and raise a porch for sure.
