Questions & Answers

Curing questions:

How soon can this be sprayed onto fresh poured concrete? Can it be sprayed on immediately after final finishing while the concrete is still soft? Will this help keep the concrete damp for better curing?
Asked by: Alan
On the bottle it tells you how long to wait before using product. Temperature does matter for this - example: I had concrete poured in cool weather so I waited 10 hrs. before I rolled it on my patio. Gave time for concrete to set up properly, to soon and will cause problems. I know I did to early and had problems with to much moisture. My experience has taught me with many uses that after 8 to 12 hrs. after concrete is poured that it will be just fine. The dry time was extended and the strength was enhanced with a slower drying time.

Is this safe to seal concrete floors for a dog shelter indoor kennel? Food on floor safe for dogs to eat after landing on this sealer?

As the dogs are in the indoor kennel overnight and part of daytime hours, my concern is for the safety of the small dogs. Hopefully, this is not toxic to animals. Another concern is for the sealant to not absorb odors as the dogs do use the floor for a bathroom, as well.
Asked by: Sporty
Nope. If your concrete is already cured, use a 5:1 dilution of water to Weldbond instead. Weldbond is a catalyzed PVA glue that is safe enough to eat by itself (essentially a very water-resistant Elmer's white glue) and works well for this purpose. If your concrete isn't fully cured, you'll have to water cure for 28 days before applying though.

Driveway pavers

I love the wet look but I do not want the slick surface. Does it come in a matte finish? I just wnat to brind out the colors in the pavers but no shine.
Asked by: Robbynne
The finish is satin. It does not create any slickness. My experience using on patio blocks/pavers that are unsealed, it will deepen the color a bit. Use only 1 coat on patio blocks / pavers or will shine and peel after 1 winter. By using this product it will help reduce/stop the blocks/pavers from popping, peeling and scaling and help the pavers/blocks looking good for many years.

Customer Reviews

9 lbs. Acrylic Concrete Cure and Sealer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, goes down fast. I shook up this product, poured it into a garden sprayer using a cone shaped paint strainer (4 for a dollar!). There were small chunks of undissolved material in the filter. I sprayed this on very thinly, quickly used a roller to sop up any white puddles as I went. Two perpendicular coats went on easy, dried quickly. There was very little odor, similar to lemon scented floor wax. A 250 Square foot slab was completed in on hour, including setup and cleanup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job Built a 1000 square foot garage. Followed the directions. Gallon label says covers 150 to 250 square feet . One gallon covered the whole floor. It went waaaaayyyy further than expected. Did 2 coats with less than 2 gallons. A very pleasant savings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from concrete seal and cure I have used this product numerous times to seal untreated concrete and will continue to use it. I have found it affordable to use, good coverage, seals well and helps to enhance the strength of the concrete. I use a roller to apply this and find it easy to do with the fact I do not skimp on the amount I use, not enough and 1 winter the concrete pops, scales etc. It is a milky white color when poured from bottle when shaken up properly. Only problem I ever had was when I bought a bottle and the contents were solid and home depot did refund my money and sent the bottle back to the manufacturer. I like the satin finish when it drys and 2 coats for me usually means it will peel after 1 winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast & Easy To Use The product was easy to use and I tinted it to match the color of my pattern stamped concrete. Two coats will give the best results.
