The main difference between the VF and VJ models is the legs fold on the new VF-99 Folding Pipe Stand (Cat No 22168) making it easy to transport and requiring 70% less area to store. The difference between the VJ-98 and the VJ-99/VF-99 is the height adjustment specifications. The VJ-98's height adjustment from Low - High would be 20-38 inches. The VF-99/VJ-99 height adjustments from Low - High would be 28-52 inches.

The RIDGID 460 Tristand is a portable vise/stand combination for use in the fabrication and assembly of pipe. We do not rate this product in terms of the weight that it will support, but in terms of the size of pipe that it will hold. The 460 Tristand is designed for use with pipe from the size of 1/8” to 6”, and will work with all schedules of pipe in that size range. Other uses are not intended uses of the 460ristand, and are not sanctioned by Ridge Tool. There are a variety of factors that influence the length of pipe that the 460 Tristand can support, including: pipe size, proper stand set up, condition of the stand, other supports, nature of work being performed, whether the stand is rigidly mounted, use of the jackscrew, how the work is centered, etc. These issues obviously vary from use to use and rely on the good judgement of the user in the specific application. With proper set up and considerations for stability and other factors, the 460 Tristand will support 600 pounds without any issues.
