Will this take a dado blade?

                Answer This Question

Hello, Jason - This saw is designed for use with a 6 in. stack dado (up to width of 3/4 in.) An adjustable dado cannot be used with this saw. An optional dado throat plate is required for this procedure and all blades and dado sets must not be rated less than the speed of this tool. Extremely disappointed
I really wanted this table saw to replace the Ryobi table saw that I've been using for years. But sadly I had to return it. Although I got it because of the LSA and the dust port was an unexpected bonus. The lack of the blade staying vertical was a deal breaker for me. When I rip wood that's thicker than 1 1/2" I prefer to make 2 or more passes by flipping the board over. As shown in my picture the blade doesn't stay vertical and doesn't make a straight cut. The fence alignment is amazing.

Downgrade from Prior Model and Poor Warranty
My R4510 motor died, and Ridgid's warranty is now difficult a nightmare. You can no longer get warranty service at Home Depot. I had to drive two hours to the nearest authorized center. Ridgid replaced it with the R4514 after a four-month wait! The R4514 is inferior: a thin, non-flat tabletop which came with a 1-inch dent, and a flimsy fence with no micro adjustment. It's not worth buying; there are better options in this price range. Ridgid’s once-good warranty is now garbage.

                        Assembly Instruction Issues
Alternate assembly procedure for 1 person: 1. Filet the box, folding all 4 sides down onto the floor. 2. Place the cart upside down onto the saw noting the proper orientation. 3. Bolt the saw to the cart using the 4 carriage bolts provided. 4. Tighten all cart assembly bolts to eliminate all loose or sloppy joints. 5. Collapse the cart to the storage position. 6. From the handle end tilt the unit up onto the parking bumpers and wheels. 7. Unlock from folded position and erect saw/cart.

Non-existent warranty for burnt out switch
1 year later, the circuit board for the switch assembly was completely scorched. After sending photos to rigid, their warranty was non existent, unless I drive 14hrs round trip to the nearest service centre to see if the damage could be covered under warranty. Most of my tools are Dewalt, and when one of them failed, they sent a replacement within 1 week. In the past 20 years of owning Dewalt tools, the 20v grass trimmer was the only tool of theirs to have failed on me.

                            Good for the price
I should’ve never sold my 2012 ridgid portable saw it was a beast and very accurate but this new one won’t align to 90 and the motor hits and bends the deck! Not happy with ridgid at all. Had to adjust the 90 only to get 88.5, the dust collection hits the fence not letting it miter to 45 when it’s stowed away! I do like the brake and the soft start but ridgid has to do better!

                              Inferior product
Blade does not line up with guide, nor is the measure tape guide accurate. The blade arbor bolt came from the factory so tight, I broke the left blade wrench trying to loosen the arbor nut. Can’t find a replacement wrench, or even a part number on line or in the manual so can’t change dull blade. I’ve owned previous ridged table saws and tile saws. This saw has adequate power, but everything else is made inferior. Frustrated.

I tried hard to like it, but it's not happening
I massively committed thinking this was a steal (I even bought a matching shop vac...) only to realize the "sale" is apparently never-ending. Regardless, while assembling, I quickly realized atrocious quality control - parts not aligning properly, requiring muscle and flexing to secure. Finally I notice a huge warp in the table itself - 3/8" gap side to side. Returned. I couldn't be happier spending "full price" on the DeWALT - incredible build quality, thick materials, and near zero tolerances.

This saw does not cut 90 degrees
I do not know how customer service will be able to remedy this. The saw blade will NOT go to a true 90 degrees ...so truly square cuts are not possible on the saw I purchased. It's approximately .08+" off of 90 degrees over 3" of blade height under the kerf...so about 1 1/2 degrees from a true perpendicular cut. See pictures. Currently I would recommend NOT purchasing this saw if you need square cuts.
