The saw is only as safe as the one using It. If you want a saw that is the safest then you need to pony up for a Sawstop table saw.

Ordered first on line , came to my home, unpacked it first thing I did was make sure the blade was 90 degrees with the table, nope, tried to adjust to 0, most I could get out of it was 88 degrees , the fence was right on, so I returned it assuming factory assembly malfunctioned since these are probably made like rabbits, Got another the next day delivered to my door, unpacked it, everything was right on the money right out of the box. Cut a few boards cut great with the Rigid blade that came with the saw. Nice cut, love the on board blade wrenches and blade storage on the side and the push stick and crosscut miter gauge storage on the other end. Seems like a well made saw nice aluminum table light enough to carry around with the stand that I used from a previous saw. Rip fence is nice and the table extension is great. Soft start is a nice feature. I was debating pros and cons with this saw to the "yellow" saw, this won hands down as far as price, construction, reliability, and a name brand . Guess the first one I got was a fluke. I gave it 5 stars since the first one I received was flawed probably by a guy that was having a bad day at the factory. It happens.

So far, I've only done a few cuts but this saw works beautifully for my needs. The price ($200) on sale is perfect and I love that it allows for 26" cuts. I checked the fence and blade and just the fence needed minor adjustments to get it square and dialed in. I will update this review as I toy with it more. However, as of now, it appears durable. It is very quiet for a table saw..... I'm coming off an old Craftsman so anything is an improvement! The only thing I wish it had was a better blade brake. It takes a few seconds to wind down. I do love the soft start feature though. The saw is very light also and I was able to store it on a garage shelf easily. I have however bolted it to an inexpensive Amazon work stand I bought and made a table top for (see pic). Overall, this is a perfect saw for me and any other DIYer. Although, I'm sure it would perform well on any job site.

I had to contact another company because the store doesn't carry the dado plate. Home depot sold me a 8" dado set. Turns out the dado throat plate that is available will only accommodate a 6" dado. With the thin throat plate and cost I would probably would have bought a different saw. Overall I like the saw 3.5-4

I've used the it heavily for about a month and for quite a variety of different cuts. I read all of the problem commentary before buying and have had zero of those or any other issues. I was also initially surprised/impressed by a bunch of things about the way the saw was designed and built. One of my initial concerns was the strength of the non-metal body. But on day two I accidentally bashed it hard with a green 2 x 12 and couldn't find even a mark. I got thinking that I'd probably have a pretty big dent with a metal body. The body also helps with portability. It's surprisingly easy to move around but heavy enough to stay put for use. I stay around +16th tolerances for most work and it's dead on and always square. The blade probably isn't the best for certain rips but it's very clean for fine cuts. I noticed that it sometimes helps to push slightly forward on the fence base before locking for fine precision. My guess is the adjustable width feature may tilt the fence slightly and pushing the base forward seems to re-align it. Nice saw. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw out of the box! I was really wanting to get the DeWalt table saw with portable stand $499.00 then I read reviews about a lot of ppl were unhappy stating the tables were not flat. Unacceptable!, I found this Rigid saw with X stand for 299.00 And I am SOOO glad I did, took about 3 hours to put together and set it up, set up the blade square to the table nothing hard there, table was dead on flat!!! Only thing I added was the 10” Diablo 80 tooth fine finish blade, Im working with some laminate flooring, cuts are ultra smooth and accurate! I checked dimension from fence to blade vs Dial Calipers Either I was very good eyeballing at 6 inches out but was within .005 on the plus side, thats insane!! Like the soft start feature very nice, the miter attachment is pretty nice, much better than the yellow guys. Havent used it a lot just yet. But we are off to a great start! Not to mention lifetime warranty and parts. You cant go wrong with this saw. Its really a nice piece of equipment

I had read several reviews on this saw and had watched a few reviews on YouTube before making the decision to purchase this saw. I am going to give Ridgid the benefit of the doubt and say that I perhaps received a defective unit. My issue is that when I raise and lower the saw blade, the blade deflects left and right about 1/8" or so. Depending on where I stop the adjustment wheel, the measurement from the blade to the rip fence could be spot on or it could be a full 1/8" off. The adjustment wheel does not feel like it's turning smoothly so I'm thinking that the screw inside may be bent or warped in some way. As far as the performance of the saw is concerned, I am pleased with it and am hoping that I can get this situation resolved. I can't currently recommend this saw but hope to change that after this is resolved.

I did a lot of research reading online reviews for table saws in this price range. Chose the Ridgid. Stand was fairly straightforward to assemble, seemed short compared to my previous Craftsman stand but maybe only an inch or 2. If you aren't mechanically inclined it might seem a bit confusing to assemble. As a few others have mentioned it seems really tough to get the saw set at a zero. It wants to lean to 1 degree but I might need to read up and see how I can adjust that. First rip was like butter and the rip fence was solid. I use my tools outdoor so I don't have a comment on the dust port. I just let 'er rip and sweep up the mess and toss it in the compost pile. Overall it feels like a solid saw and will let me (hobbyist) do what I need to do. The stand looks kinda lean but it is actually pretty solid.

I always hesitate to review products before I have used them for a solid period of time. I usually try to give everything at least 6 months to a year, and I have only had this table saw for a couple of months. I have ripped down quite a few pieces of wood with it so far and have been very impressed with the power and accuracy of each cut. The extension is wonderful to have. I have used it a lot of times and it makes cutting sheet goods and other materials very easy on such a small saw. It comes with a nice little push stick. The fence is very nice. I have done miter cuts and adjusted the blade depth quite a bit and everything seems fairly accurate. I am not a table saw officiant as this is my first one and I have only used cabinet shop level saws in the past. I am just using this for wood projects at home. I hope to built my own home in the next five years or so using this saw. I fully expect it will last at least until that project comes. Probably longer I suspect.

Extension slides out to the right to allow for just over 26" rip cuts. On the negative side, the dust collection is horrible, with more sawdust falling out around and underneath the saw than goes into the collector. At first I thought this to be a problem with my shop-vac, but after upgrading to a more powerful model, the problem still persists. Also, the right side of the table is approximately 1/4 of an inch higher than the left side when all four feet are level. When building an outfeed table, I ended up having to shim up the left side in order to keep the saw level. Not a game changer, but in my mind, an example of very poor quality control and manufacturing.

The rubber feet make it quite stable and although it can be mounted to a stand it works perfectly on top of my Pegasus work table. The functions and controls work flawlessly, and I am extremely impressed with the addition of the sawdust collection system that allows for the attachment of a shop vacuum to remove and collect the sawdust while in operation. The safety features on this product are excellent, and it is a quiet saw. I have owned several table saws, various brands and quality level, and this is hands down the best I have used. Great craftsmanship, and ease of use and set-up. I would highly recommend this product to anyone, and the price for such an outstanding product is quite reasonable.

The marking indicator for the fence measurement needs a little more slot space in order to match up the table ruler with the actual measurement from the blade. As for setting the blade to a perfect 90 degrees, the adjustment handle when at zero was actually less than 90 degrees and I had to push pretty hard on the handle while trying to lock it in place at 90. The mechanism doesn't have much play past zero, on the dial, which made it difficult to get just perfect. For example, the tilting mechanism should have some room to tilt left for allowing blade to be set at dead center (zero degrees) when using a square to check for precision. Overall I like the unit as it has a solid top and durable build. The built in handle slot, where the table extension lock is, makes it easier to move around the garage when I need to create space. I also like the tool and blade storage ideas on either side making it convenient to locate the mitre gauge and push stick. An excelllent product for the sale price. I would definitely buy this again.

I did have to return this saw due to the blade drooping back into the table during cuts. I hated returning it cause it has a really sturdy fence and seemed really well built besides that one issue. The blade droop was sort of the last straw cause the top had some gashes in it as if someone slid a screw driver across it. The extension was not square so the measuring guide was off and extension would not slide easy but that was a quick fix. I adjusted it by loosening the allen screws under the extension and pluming up the extension and guide. The blade was also not 90 degrees to the t slot so that is easily adjustable too. The reason I give it a 4 stars is cause I do think its a great saw and the issues I had were more to do with QC than the saw itself. When I returned it I was able to get another brand saw with a mobile base for the same price and the mobile base is a great feature. I planned to get a mobile base for the Ridgid until I returned it. Also I was surprised how sturdy and hefty this little saw was as it did not move if it was on a level surface and the 26 inch rip capacity on it is better than most in its class. I really wanted to keep it but I would also recommend it. I bought it cause so many do have good luck with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great table saw This is a great table saw. It came very well packaged and in perfect condition. The blade came adjusted perfectly from the factory. The fence is pretty accurate. You just align it up where you want it and push the fence forward then lock it down. I ripped a treated 4x4 with no problem. You will need a dust collector system because it will throw saw dust all over you if you dont have one. Mine got clogged up and it just covered me with saw dust. You will need to send the table because it comes with a rough surface. I sanded mine and put some wax on it and now its good to go. This saw cuts great 45s for me anyway. I built a 4x8 work bench/ table saw stand / out feed table with this table saw and all my porch rails. The 45 cuts match perfectly. Highly recommend this saw and any power tool that has the Ridgid name on it. Great quality products for the price.

Used it to take 1/8" off the length of slab doors that were too wide and to cut hardwood flooring. Everything about the saw is easy to setup and use. Its a very nice product for the price. This means when looking at store in-stock numbers, the two saws are lumped into the same "in-stock" numbers. I had to travel to 3 different Home Depots to find this saw even though every store shows it in stock. Overall the saw is excellent!

This is my first table saw and I'm no expert, but my concern is the fence only locks down in front and does not reliably set up parallel to the blade. Each time I move the fence, I have to fiddle with it to make sure it's aligned properly. Very inefficient. When I start thinking it will be easier and just as accurate to use my circular saw, something is wrong. I should confess I haven't carefully reviewed the manual, and it's possible there is some adjustment that can be made? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will update this if I figure our a fix.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from do your research I would not recommend purchasing the saw. The day that I got it I took it out of the box and it had a bevel set up on it I tried to adjust it to zero but it would not go far enough. I looked in the instruction manual to see how to fine tune adjust and there were no instructions in the manual or online as to how to fine-tune adjust had to call the company did what they said and still not correct. Will not cut at 0° also, there is no storage place for your rip fence and the legs do not fold up easily for transporting

I purchased this primarily because I use mostly Ridgid tools, and have been more than happy with all of the products I've used in addition to a very appealing price point. I used the saw somewhat heavy for about 6 months. At that point in time the blade height adjustment started to become more difficult and finally failing this past week. After inspecting it I found the plastic bevel gears stripped. It was pretty easy to go on Ridgid's service page, find the parts at a minimal cost and order them (I ordered 2 sets expecting it to fail again), only to find out the part is on back order for several weeks. It seems it is a pretty common failure. I WOULD recommend this saw for DIY home improvement, and light to moderate use. It is a very capable saw. I would NOT suggest this saw for moderate to heavy use for the singular reason of the plastic bevels. I looked at the Ridgid job site saw and it seems to use plastic bevels as well, while the Dewalt uses metal bevels. Seems to be a relatively small but important design flaw by Ridgid. Hopefully they can take it into account and at some point in time provide a metal replacement version. This can be a critical failure if you use this saw (or the job site saw) regularly, especially if you can't readily get the replacement part. I only recommended this for someone purchasing it for light to moderate use. The tool performed well and was only the bevel failure that I have an issue with, so I rated it average. It is a good value for the DIYer not the regular hobbyist or professional.

Easy enough to pick up and move but not so light that it feels cheap or dangerous. Lots of usable features and the safety guards are actually usable without making the saw even more dangerous. The coating on the table is very low friction; no need for steel wool or talcum powder like with cast iron tables.

Smooth cutting, not too loud, lightweight enough to easily move around (though I’d like to build a stand for it), and the soft start is a nice feature. I’ve mostly been ripping with it, haven’t done a lot of miter cuts.

I had to adjust the settings for the measurements on the rip fence. Overall first day experience of using the saw on the job site was very good. While installing a fiberglass shower I cut all of my shims to width
