Amazing
I decided to close in my hen house before the snow flies this winter. I used 1 11/2 inch and 5/8 inch brad nails and a 2 ah battery. I shot 700 1 1/2 nails and 400 plus 5/8 nails on one battery. The only thing I don't like about it is the 5 nail count stop. Ryobi airstrike does the same thing. When theres 5 nails left the gun won't fire again. In some instances that would be good. But I prefer emptying the mag before stopping. I dump the 5 and pop in another stick. Absolutely an amazing tool. Good job ridgid. Look close and you'll see the star of this picture.

This is a really nice easy to use brad nailer. I loaded with 9/16" brad nails as well as 2" for the use test and it performed great with both, easy to load nails into the tool. I was very impressed with the power, it can be adjusted to meet the demands of the material and nail size you are using. The drill depth is also adjustable, you can leave the nail head showing or drive all the way into the material. It has a perfectly positioned light that helps brighten dark areas. The tool itself is heavy, adding the battery (not included) to the tool doesn't seem to have much impact to the overall weight and the batteries are pretty light weight. In the end I think this tools is awesome for DIY or smaller jobs. For large jobs it will probably be too heavy and a air nailer might be better. The tool is awesome and performs to the standards you would expect form Ridgid.

This RIDGID 18 Volt Lithium Ion brushless cordless 18 gauge 2-1/8 inch brad nailer is a handy tool for the home or shop. The best thing about this nailer is that you don’t need to have a small compressor on hand, just a freshly charged battery. This nailer is perfect for finish work like door or floor moldings. It is not light weight but is lighter than an air compressor operated pneumatic nail gun. I have a few 2 A/Hr. batteries and they don’t add much weight. This nail gun holds 105 18 gauge brad nails from 5/8 inch to 2 1/8 inches in length. The gun has a no-mar rubber tip to prevent marring softer woods. To Adjust for the nail length and hardness of the wood use the drive power knob on the top of the nailer. There is also a fine depth adjustment knob. The nailer can be set by a switch to single sequence actuation or contact actuation. I also like how easy it is to clear a jammed nail from the head, just lift the lever and the head opens to remove a jammed nail. I was surprised it did not come with a Ridgid 636181001 Belt Clip. Its handy to slip the nail gun in your belt instead of having to put it down especially if you are on a ladder. It even has a handy LED light built in. I am very pleased to add this versatile tool to my collection and it works with all the Ridgid 18 Volt batteries. Be sure to register your tool within 90 days to get the full lifetime warranty .

I can't stress how nice it is to not have a coiled or straight air hose to deal with! This Ridgid 18 volt brad nailer is great for my needs in the shop. I'm not a commercial or even professional woodworker. I make or install much of my own trim around the house and I make some smaller furniture, valances, and other decor. Having a versatile brad nailer that isn't tethered to an air comprrsssor has been wonderful (I imagine a professional would be even more impressed) and I can't recommend this one enough. It has depth and pressure adjustments to dial in the appropriate amounts you need for your project and ergonomics are comfortable. Compatibility with my other 18 volt Ridgid batteries means I don't have to buy new batteries, too. The see-through cartridge helps to know how many nails you have remaining which is a bonus. The only downsides I have experienced is the weight and light. I have been using my 6ah Octane battery (this isn't an Ocatane tool so it doesn't have to be an Octane battery) and the nailer can get a little heavy after extended use. For the light, simply pit, it doesn't work. The light shines above the nail head so you can't really see where it is when it's dark. But let's be honest.. who is installing trim or building cabinets in the dark anyway?

I was very impressed with the power of this cordless variety. I did not have any misfires or any nails that did not go in all the way. Most of the other reviews commented on how this was lightweight. I actually found it to be pretty heavy for a brad nailer. It was easily 3x the weight of my air compressor varieties. However, it does seem to be very well made and seems like it would last a long time. I used this nail gun with a 4AH 18 volt battery. It lasted an extremely long time. I long finished my baseboard project long before it ran out of power. I would have had to recharge my air compressor a few times in the same time period. The convenience of not using an air compressor is priceless. One difference between the cordless and one that uses an air compressor is that this tool has a slight delay after you squeeze the trigger to shoot a nail. That took some getting used to.

RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 18-Gauge 2-1/8 in. Brad Nailer (Tool Only) with CLEAN DRIVE Technology Wow, I really love this tool. It’s light weight and could be carried around all day if necessary. I couldn’t wait to use it because I don’t have to have a noisy compressor and a long hose to fight with and trip over all day long. Plus without the hose i can flip it from one side to the other quickly. This thing is a game changer for sure. It will shoot 5/8” to 2 1/8” nails. The overall length without a battery is about 10 long It does not come with a belt clip but it does have a place to put one if you want to add it. It fits my large hands very well and this tool can easily be used by left or right handed people. The light at the front definitely makes it easier when working in tight spaces. You can set it to shoot one nail at a time or you can set it where you just hold down the trigger and it will shoot every time you push the nose down onto a workpiece. Overall I really like this tool and I can’t wait to use it again and again. Ridgid makes some really good tools and this one is a home run for sure. I would definitely recommend this tool to anyone.

This thing works great right out of the chute, a pro-quality tool. I used an existing Ridgid battery I own, and had at it. Tried it out with four different size nails, 1 ¼” to 2”. Other than some slight adjustments to the power dial as I got longer, it worked very efficiently on all sizes. Tool seems heavy at first, especially if you're using it for a long time, but compared to being attached to a hose, it's pretty fabulous. Works for all styles and sizes of trim. Works for wood fencing. Also great for those touchy little repairs that come up occasionally. This is a nice tool...glad I have it (I do wish it came with a carrying case, tho’).

    Flimsy in strange ways
This kit costs professional but delivers closer to the DIY level. I say DIY because the charger has a cord that is so cheap/delicate that I can't imagine it surviving anywhere but plugged in at home. Honestly, the wire is 1/16" thick. Additionally, the nail-jam access is half plastic and has a screw threaded into so it ends up delicate, as well. The bare tool is marginal but you should definitely avoid the kit.

Our crew standardized on another battery tool brand years ago and we've gotten our money's worth from them. Looking at replacements, we've been evaluating other brands, and Ridgid is among the short list preferences for our field guys. Nail guns are a good acid test for a battery tool trial because they require a little more care and finesse than drills and saws. Our first impression is that this thing is tougher than nails. It's quite heavy for a trim nailer but that appears to translate to durability. We're not wild about the plastic nail magazine loader, but it operates smoothly and latches securely. It includes a convenient separate LED light switch. We nailed a few dozen different length brads into wood, plastic, and plaster without one misfire. The rotary control for depth of drive is linear and intuitive, although the center setting seems to work well for common lengths and materials. While it's a little bulky in the front, it will tuck into most spaces. Actuation is selectable for either single trigger firing or sequential contact firing (as long as the trigger is depressed). I can't speak to battery life as of yet, but the standard 1.5 Ah battery charges very quickly. Construction seems solid with high end plastics and a good ratio of metal components.
