Does Rigid use the same rechargable batteries for all Rigid products?
Asked by Rich October 23, 2020Yes - their 18-volt battery works on all models. Their new OCTANE batteries are backwards compatible with their older tools and vice-versa. However, if you are using the legacy battery in an OCTANE tool, you will loose some of the features that the OCTANE system provides.

Can I use this to trim hardwoods?
Asked by Brock April 28, 2020Yes. I use it to round edges of board routinely. Worked really well on the oak 1x8s I used for some shelves last month. I have not tried any intricate bits like you might use for cabinets, but I suspect it would work fine.

What is the spindle size with the 1/4" collet removed?
Asked by Donald March 11, 2020The opening in which the collet sits is tapered inward, as is the collet itself. The only way I could get a measurement is by measuring the dimensions of the collet. The top end is .429 inches and tapers down to .305 inches. Bear in mind that I am not a machinist, just an amateur handyman. So, my measurements are not absolutely dead accurate; just very, very close. If you're planning on inserting a spindle without using the collet, I don't see that it would work.

Is this brushless router much quieter than one with a motor with brushes?

hi, can I use the 3ah and 6ah octane battery kit with this router? I see it comes with 2ah and not sure if I need to use only
Asked by Vijay June 22, 2019Hi Vijay, Yes you can use a 3 Ah and 6 Ah pack with the router. Please keep in mind this will add more weight to the tool so it might throw off the balance of the router. If you're going to do this I'd recommend doing some practice with them before you use it on the actual work piece that you'll be routing.
