Love this cordless, just as well as corded saws.
I bought this to go with my impact and drill. Could not be more impressed by it.

I am extremely pleased with this circular saw tool. It functions and cuts well. The best part is that it is less noisy & lighter weight compared to my corded saw. I enjoy very much the convince of no cord.

I've used this saw for 3 years and over I'm satisfied with the saw. It is a big improvement over the Gen 4, 6 1/2 inch saw I used. Is it is powerful as a 15 amp corded saw? No, but it gets the job done and I haven't used a corded saw in 3 years with the exception of heavy demo work where I have to bury the blade down into 10 layers of shingles. The RPM speed is a little slow, but they had to gear it down for more torque. For maximum performance I would use this saw with 5 amp hour or bigger batteries (9.0 is best) I will be upgrading to a Octane r8654 saw for more performance soon.

It was easy to use. The only problem I had, was that it drained my battery fairly quickly. But I suppose a bigger battery should work longer.

One of the worst RIDGID tools I have ever bought. First use, I tried to cut through three layers of 3/4" plywood and saw continuously quit working. I thought battery might be loose, but wasn't. Wore down fully-charged battery in 10 minutes. Decided to try to cut through one layer (3/4 in.) at a time, and it did the same thing with a second fully-charged battery. I've read other reviews that state the same problem with this saw. I returned an 18-Volt Cordless Brushless 4-1/2 in. angle grinder that had the same lack of performance. That is, wore down a battery in 10 minutes. In their defense, I own 2 RIDGID cordless drills, a RIDGID vacuum cleaner with good performance, although the first drill that I've owned for years wears down batteries just sitting around and have to continually remove and reinstall the battery so it will work. The newer drill performs great so far. I also have a corded RIDID belt sander that I haven't used enough to determine the quality or performance. This has me questioning RIDGID's cordless tools and even the RIDGID brand, which I'm sad to say. I considered RIDGID's corded saw for $99 to replace the R8653B cordless I returned, but even with RIDGID's Lifetime Warranty, decided on one of their competitor's with a higher rating, not just on here, but also on internet reviews. Even with it being $39 more, I wanted to buy a tool that I believe will serve me better and will perform monumentally better.

Needed a new circular saw and this one sold me on the feel and handling. Well balanced with a easy-adjust table. Cut guide is dead-on accurate too. First project was cutting pressure treated rough-cut fence boards and this saw went through them with ease!

I wanted a cordless circular saw and this saw was a natural fit because all of my other power tools are in the RIDGID 18v family. Saw has great features and performed every bit as well as I expected for a battery powered saw. Used it to cut 2x4s, 23/32 plywood and 3/4 MDF to build an 8’ long by 2’ deep workbench. Started with a battery that wasn’t fully charged and almost finished the job on the same battery. Only switched to a fresh battery for the plywood so I wouldn’t lose speed and start to chip and splinter too bad. The only thing I feel RIDGID left to be desired with this saw is the blade guard. I’d prefer a lightweight metal to plastic but I don’t beat up on my tools so it should work fine for me. Would highly recommend this saw to any DIYer or even the pro who needs to have a battery powered saw for tight spaces where cords just get in the way.

This was the third tool of a three tool combo I bought. It felt OK in my hands, and cut OK based on the 8 linear feet of 3/4" plywood I used it on, but compared to the Dewalt 7 1/4" 20v I replaced it with, it felt flimsy. Maybe it was the cheap plastic blade guard. Like I said, I only did a single test cut, so I'm no authority on the saw, but I'd say as a free third tool in a three tool combo, it was a bargain. I returned the set I bought due to the hammer drill shutting down, not because of the saw. I'd recommend this saw to the budget conscious.
