True Comparisons!
I bought this to work in addition with the corded Fein and the cordless "JobMax" tool. I'll start by saying the multi tool is the first tool in the bag when I go out on a job, and all my cordless tools are Ridgid. I use them all the time.
I love my Fein, but it's not always handy having to have it plugged in. The JobMax has worked pretty well in those situations where I used it, but it has real limitations in the fact that it overheats pretty quickly and stops until it cools off, then I can go again until it does it again...pretty frustrating to say the least. So when this dedicated cordless multitool came along I figured I'd give it a try.
So far it has performed very well.. As of today, I have not experienced the overheating problem the JobMax experiences. It is lightweight, well balanced and powerful. One problem with this tool is the blade changing mechanism.... It works fine, but is clunky at best. I really like the way the JobMax mechanism works. I can change blades on it in half the time it takes to do with the new one. I still catch myself grabbing the JobMax first, due to that reason. But the balance is better with the new one.
The other thing that this tool falls way behind is the switch. The tool is variable speed through a dial on the body and an ON/OFF switch. The switch SUCKS. it is difficult to turn on and off. I really like the 'trigger' control on the old JobMax. Squeeze the trigger and control the speed on the fly.
Yesterday I grabbed the JobMax, but ended up going back for the new one because the JobMax overheated multiple times. The designers need to consider changing the tool changing mechanism and the switch to the old design, but keep the balance and non overheating problems of the JobMax.

What happened
My first multi tool was awesome, recently I have purchased 2 that failed almost as soon as we started using it.
Issues with the on/off button, we keep having to turn off and on in order to make any progress.
Very disappointed in how quickly this product fails.

I was so excited to get it because I’ve loved...
I was so excited to get it because I’ve loved RIDGID power tools forever but after a day or two of use the on/off switch got harder and harder to use. I had to use a screw driver to push the switch to the on position and any bump would make the switch turn to the off position. It got to the point that it no longer turns on. Luckily I registered it for the lifetime warranty so I’ll be claiming that soon as soon as I get the approval.

Most versatile tool in my toolbox
Love this tool, I use it for everything. Need to cut a hole in the wall for an outlet? What about removing a threshold from a door? Remove some excess framing? This does it all and it is a beast. My only complaint is the vibrations get a little intense at the higher RPMs but with the LSA and the mid-range price for a upper mid range tool I am one happy customer.
